It really depends on which income level receives tax cuts (or tax increases). Tax levels have a balancing effect. By reducing taxes on the lower income levels and increasing taxes on the upper levels the ultimate effect is increased standard of living, less unemployment, less poverty, and increased productivity.

Hoarding always produces a negative effect -- especially the hoarding of money (wealth). I am not criticizing ordinary wealth (e.g., around twenty million dollars). But when one percent of the population owns and controls 98% of the Nation's wealth resources the imbalance can't help but cause calamitous problems -- like economic depression and rule by the rich.

As FDR demonstrated (and Eisenhower continued) taxation is an efficient means of maintaining economic balance. And the rich weren't made poor -- just a bit less rich.

Communism is the opposite of capitalism. But the best form of capitalism is that which is regulated by some socialist controls -- which was the system that existed during the most prosperous and productive years in our history, the '40s to the '80s.

FDR and Eisenhower fostered that system and Reagan, scripted puppet of the super-rich, sabotaged it by gradually removing those socialistic regulations which made the system possible. Yet the glorified movie actor (that great pretender) remains the hero of millions of Americans who were happily bamboozled by him and refuse to examine and believe the facts surrounding the Reagan presidency.
