Russia cuts off gas supply to France as the French face energy disaster

So much time spent so dependent upon something so removed from easy access is a sign of insufficient reflection and thought. It is a common human fault.

What should they have done to better position themselves OP?
Well when under Trump, we were energy independent and Trump wanted to make a deal. Trump warned them about this and they laughed. But the sad part is under Biden, natural gas price here is up 300%. So Americans are going to have to choose between eating or cut the heat on. This is environmentalists in action. We need to vote all liberal we can out in November.

So you're admitting that Trump failed to make a deal that would better position us, right? Right!?!?!?

What did Trump tell them to do though?
Buy gas from suppliers other than Russia.

Europe is importing large amounts of LNG. Russia doesn’t really have anywhere to go with their gas.

Russia needs the world economy more than the world economy needs Russia.

Exactly. That gas funds huge chunk of Russian government (and by extension the war effort).

What they don't sell to France stays in the ground, can't be re-routed like oil.

They can’t store it. They can’t liquify it. They have very limited pipelines over vast distances to get it to any other market.

Question is how much gas does Europe need and can we transport enough this winter.

If it were not for the Putin U boats, I'm sure Biden would enhance US production and send it over to Europe.

But Biden, being such a wonderful leader of the Western World, knows better.

Besides, Joe is too busy fighting the semi-fascists in his own country which is really the only threat in the world he sees as a threat.

What a dishonest characterization....Progressives are such terrible people that argue from a point of utter weakness...

It takes two to make a deal dummy....Trump was offering Europe a way to get their energy from an ally, a friend, and they chose to, as so many did during his Presidency to rebuff him, mock him, and turn to their enemies for their needs...Now they have their way, and they want the US to bail them out? After they insulted our help during the prior administration? Fuck them.

That's right everyone, as Joe Blow declares war on fossil fuels he is trying to ramp up production.

Biden doesn’t control gas production. We aren’t Russia where it’s all state owned. It’s a private market economy.
