San Fran City sues Trumper admin over sanctuary cities

BrokeLoser and OKTexas are babbling about things they don't understand. OK does not understand what "harm" means in the law.

Trump can do nothing to San Fran. The judge put the action on hold, and there is nothing that can be done until the case is heard.

That means, OK, the city is safe for a long time as the case winds it way up the appellate route.

Trump will be impeached, defeated, or long dead by the time it gets to SCOTUS.

Withholding funds is not an "action." No court can "force" the feds to pay money to anybody until the case is heard and a final decision made. Until that time, the feds can stop the flow of federal money to whoever they desire.

It takes a special kind of stupid to sue in order to avoid the law.
The "Law" in Nazi Germany said it's OK to gas Jews. It takes a special kid of stupid to blindly abide by all laws without ever asking questions. This is another reason why Libs are always calling you guys fascists. You have those tendencies

Comparing gas chambers to immigration laws is the reason no one takes you seriously.

Nope. That's what you wish for, but will not happen. SF will get its money until a final decision.

You have it just the opposite. In a lawsuit, everything stays the same until a verdict is reached. Trump has the power to stop money going to San Francisco and nobody can stop him. That money is not "owed" to the city. It was never theirs to begin with.

Yup, you are wrong. If there is money to give already on the board and order, the judge can order it paid to the city.

That's ridiculous. The federal government has the power to cut money from anybody or anywhere they desire. They are not breaking any laws and a court cannot order them to continue funding. Here it is right here:

"In a lawsuit filed with the United States District Court of the Northern District of California, San Francisco’s city attorney, Dennis Herrera, requested an injunction on the Trump administration’s attempted crackdown on sanctuary cities, which limit city agencies and local law enforcement from assisting in the enforcement of federal immigration laws."

As you can see, until such an injunction is permitted, there is nothing they can do, and I doubt any such injunction will be allowed. Even if it is, it won't be long until a higher court reverses that injunction.

Last time I checked, progressives and fascists were hand in hand, praising each other.

It doesn't surprise me, "libs" are calling everyone else every name that they used to be.
I was going to mention the large number of butthurt liberals in San Fran but then I would imagine that the city has been suffering butt hurt long before President Trump took office and started to make America great again.
The biggest problem since around 2011 is that a 1br apartment costs $3,000 per month and a 2BR home costs over $1.5 million. Most of the artists and certainly most activists are long gone.

San Francisco is a sanctuary city for the rich
Thats pretty much any where you go now. and to top it off, the realty companies that rent out those 3000.00 a month apartments, pay minimum wage to the people that work for them to keep up those apartments and the grounds around them.

...and your side has a tendency to call everyone a Nazi you disagree with. This is a common sense law to keep a country economically stable. No one is stripping people of property, publically marking them, shipping them of to death camps. We are asking more questions and verifying backgrounds before letting them in the country. Get a grip on reality before you do something stupid.
The US already has the strictest vetting process for immigrants in the world.
that is not exactly true. The U.S is one of the easiest countries to migrate to.

I don't know myself but they seem to think so here

easiest way to find out is to research what it would take for you as an American Citizen to move and become a resident of another country. Some of those countries are impossible to become citizens of, Take Mexico, almost impossible, and if you do manage to make it in, you will never be able to own property in the country, you can only rent it (for lack of better terms) from the government.
Canada? you better have a huge bank account because right off you have to give a huge amount of cash to the government to become part of their health insurance, and if you are going for a job, it pretty much has to be a job that is open and they have been unable to fill with Canadian citizens first.
All countries are hard to get into, the U.S is the only one that you can just fly in to and stay. No other country allows that.

Two things:
1. It's clear you desperately want to keep your wetback criminals safe and secure and shielded from the laws American tax payers pay for, however, you have the law and how the judicial system works grossly misinterpreted. No matter how hard you try you can't will it to work 'your way'.

2. What part of Mexico are you from and did you swim over or climb a wall?

Some journalist asked our Mayor a question that essentially painted Anchorage as a "sanctuary city" Dude was pissing himself, "No, no, NO! Anchorage is /not/ a 'Sanctuary city' - that's a made up term!" I lol'ed.

Had me there for a minute.

Then I realized that you had just omitted the "Los" part of "Los Anchorage".

The CA constitution (which for some reason suddenly has its pages down online), says that all areas within CA must abide by federal law and not attempt to break from the Union. Telling the Union on a vital issue such as immigration that the Union is less powerful than it, is against the law.
Is this what you are referring to:

The State of California is an inseparable part of the United States of America, and the United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land.

City Of San Francisco Sues Trump Administration | Hoodline

The strategy, I think, is to drag this out and protect immigrants until Trump is impeached, leaves office, or dies normally, which ever comes first.

SF will get their little fagot asses kicked on this one. Federal law requires, as a condition to receiving grants, that the recipient be in compliance with federal laws. If they aren't in compliance they are not eligible for the grants to begin with. Just because other administrations haven't enforced that law, doesn't prevent Trump form doing so.

That is the whole point; we don't believe our current president is faithfully executing our federal Constitution.

Or, any of the civil rights acts.

By the time The Ninth Circus' verdict is appealed to The U.S. Supreme Court the court will have been Americanized and the term "slam-dunk" will acquire new meaning. Emphasis on the "SLAM" part.
