Based on Trump's original plan I'd save $122.25 a month. It would suit me fine, but my trouble is a wife that can spend that in an instant as if it was going out of style.

As I see it the losers in this are families. The standard deduction is almost doubled. So for the wife and I, last year it was $12,700 and the proposed is $24,000 that we could exempt from taxes.

But that mostly offset with the elimination of the exemption which amounts to $4,050 for each dependent. For the 2 of us that's a total of $8,100. For a couple with 2 kids that's a total loss of $16,200 from what they were once able to deduct from their taxable income.

Again, this is based on the pre-election Trump plan. What'll come out of congress is a whole other story.

GOP only has plans for a tax cut for the rich. You say you'll save $52.50/year? Did you factor in the 20% rate increase in what is now the 10% tax bracket? Looks like you'll be paying more taxes if this current tax plan passes. You'll be paying nearly $150 more.
