"Gun deaths" include accidental shootings and suicides. So that's an irrelevant number. Several of those top states are also high populations of poor, who are more likely to commit suicide. They also have the highest gun ownership rates. More people who own guns means more people who get shot. Doesn't make it the guns fault.
