Sioux Leader To Trump: ‘Leave The Office You Bought And Take Your Swamp Things With You’

Harold Frazier said Trump should also apologize to the nation for his Pocahontas remarks.

A Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe leader issued a damning response Wednesday to President Donald Trump’s “Pocahontas” slur earlier this week during an event meant to honor Navajo Code Talkers.

Harold Frazier, chairman of the South Dakota-based tribe, said he was “deeply ashamed” of Trump’s “disgusting” treatment of the World War II veterans and appeared to suggest that the president should resign.

“The President of the United States had an opportunity to honor veterans and bridge gaps in the relationship Tribes have with the Federal government,” Frazier said in a statement sent to HuffPost. “Instead, he chose to disgrace himself, his position and the nation he represents.”

Frazier continued, “The President of the United States wanted to utilize an opportunity to honor native warriors who defended this land to make a political attack. I have one for him, leave the office you bought and take your swamp things with you.”

For many Native Americans, Trump’s racist remark was a reminder of the trauma they have faced since European colonization began in the 1600s.

“We have been forced to learn the way of the American life,” Frazier said. “We have learned American religions, language, economy, politics and society. ... The President’s comments are another reminder that we are not allowed to participate.”

Frazier also pointed out that sexual assault and abuse, much like the violence that the real Pocahontas endured, affect Native American women at staggering rates.

“What happened to Pocahontas is still happening today to our women,” Frazier said. “Native American women continue to be victims of rape and exploitation by white men. The President of the United States is practicing that by exploiting native women as an insult for political machismo.”

Trump hasn’t addressed the outpouring of condemnation he’s received from Native American leaders and U.S. lawmakers since Monday.

Amen! Trump not only shamed Native Americans - he shamed America!

Lying Donald did the whole stunt to appeal to his base of racist alt-right whackjobs like the KKK and Alex Jones. David Duke praised Trump which is who his base is.

And, he did so to the dishonor of WW2 Marines who used their native American language as code that the Japanese could not break. Lying Trump dishonored the Marines and the military as well.

Put down the bong. He made a fucking joke.

What does putting down the bong have to do with anything. Put down the shot glass, you'll feel better tomorrow. For a few hours anyway.

He made a joke. But you've come up with an insane analysis of the situation that is truly beyond the pale. Do you really believe the garbage you post?

lol why would anybody care what some Sioux chief thinks about anything? The Sioux were just a bunch of genocidal killers and thugs, wiping out or enslaving other tribes around them for centuries, until Lincoln's generals gave them a taste of their own medicine. Deport the gimps to Mexico if they don't like what they have here, where they can be among their ancestors and live happily ever after, in some shithole of their own making. Most natives aren't offended by what Trump said, just those who hope to shake down dumbass whites for money.

Meh, he’s a politician and like all politicians, he’s full of shit. The Navajo Code Talkers weren’t insulted so fuck him. It’s like the Washington Redskins controversy. The rank and file Indians weren’t insulted nor did they care. It was just the idiot politicians.

Left wingers should be holding investigations and determining how much in reparations the Sioux should be paying out to all the tribes they attacked and oppressed, and to all the survivors of Mexican and white families they massacred as well. They can start by confiscating Harolds' hat.

Should have been more offended by the portrait of Andrew Jackson than Trump's need to make every event about him and his uncontrollable prepubescent urge to insult someone every time he opens his fat fucking mouth...

It’s ok that y’all constantly insult Trump, but if he does it the crying starts

The man cannot raise above his smallism for any occasion.

One would safely guess that an obvious fuck.....like you.... can only respond with this type of lame post.......Never really realized hos ACCURATE Hillary was with her "deplorable" comment..

There are hundreds of tribes, and new ones popping up all the time, trying to get casino licenses. Can you list these 'leaders' for us, and tell us what percentage of tribes they represent? Thanks in advance ...
