Nothing can be enjoyed when viewed through the Dark Lenses of SJW Outraged Smugness:
The Wizard of Oz is a grotesque predictor of Trumpâs America | Bidisha
Itâs this lurking inner wrongness, the darkness at its edges and the emptiness at its core, that speaks to me now. The US of The Wizard of Oz is not so far from the US of today. The supposedly great man living in Trump Tower â I mean Emerald City â turns out to be a con artist, a bloviating coward who relies on self-aggrandisement and empty shows of power to cow the people. The filmâs chaotic momentum, in which events roll luridly from one rococo set-piece to the next, with Dorothyâs destination and the purpose of her trip moving in and out of focus, seems strangely familiar. And the central reveal about the hollowness, cynicism, opportunism, egotism and fakery of our leaders is chillingly apt./...
And then there's Rudoph:
The Huffington Post has revisited a 1964 Christmas classic and determined itâs quite problematic and have renamed it âRudolph the Marginalized Reindeer.â
âSome of these lines from âRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeerâ made our jaws drop,â a Facebook post from the outlet reads.
In a video included in the post, the leftist outlet says, âViewers are noticing the tale may not be so jolly after all.â Included are quotes from apparent experts who troll on Twitter saying the story is âa parable on racism and homophobia with Santa as a bigoted exploitative prick.â Others said, Santa is in âserious need of diversity and inclusion training.â
Rudolph with his red nose so bright, and unlike all the others, is picked on not only by his friends, but also his father and is bullied by the school coach who tells him he canât play in any of the games, like the song goes. And on and on the complaints pour out showing the âbigotryâ of so many of the beloved characters.
