I've never seen proof that breathing in second hand smoke causes cancer. Anyone got a link to a legit study?
I don't smoke. I think it is gross.

Oh get real. For decades people smoked in restaurants and there weren't ambulances lined up outside because people "couldn't breathe!" Matter of fact, it didn't bother them. Most people smoked, some did not and they didn't cry out for oxygen!
Now there may be a smattering of people who smoke and whiners are becoming drama queens feigning the "filth" they are bringing into their lungs are shortening their lives from those few cigarettes by years and years! So go to a No Smoking restaurant, bar or casino or stay home and stay safe.
In other words, "fuck your rights, breather". Yup, that's what I thought.
The ambulances don't come to the restaurant. They come to the house years later when the lung cancer creep becomes too much for the body to resist.
Then they take you to the hospital to give you false hope and lots of morphine. So there's that.
Then you die while your children watch.
Thanks. Thanks a fucking lot for looking out for the rights of killers.
I've grown so fearful of violent backlash from non-smokers I don't even smoke in my car if there's a chance I will stop next to a non-smoker's car. I relegate my smoking to out in my backyard with no one around.
That's okay, that's when I put together my most devious plans. Non-smokers beware.
Thanks for that. Driving behind a smoker is damn disgusting. Gotta roll all the windows up. Fuck that.
Actually, he doesn't have the right to decideYou just don't get it...You are absolutely right. They do not have to give that restaurant, bar or casino their business. You have no right to force others to breathe your filthRestaurants casinos and bars should have the freedom to allow smoking sections or not. People should have the freedom to eat in those restaurants. Freedoms are what we are about.
Smokers are the ones engaging in offensive behavior. It is the SMOKER who must be inconvenienced
You just don't get it. It is the business owner who has the right to decide what he wants in his business. He is the one who is taking the risk. Putting up the money, getting licenses, and promoting his business.
Seventy two percent of the posters polled said that businesses should be able to decide whether to have smoking or not in their restaurants, bars, etc. Some may decide not to have smoking, but they have that choice.
They are the ones that are invested in that business.
It's a matter of choice. Those who smoke may want an establishment where they feel more comfortable and by the same token I would feel more comfortable in a non smoking establishment.

So All of those people who did not smoke in the 40's 50's 60's 70's died from lung cancer from 2nd hand smoke. Sorry, you're wrong.
My mother and father were both heavy smokers and I don't have lung cancer, father died of diabetes and mother of Alzheimers. Sure, many do die of lung cancer who did smoke, some that never did. If your number is up, it's up.

You can smell the smoke of a driver in front of you? Have you thought of talking with a professional about this?

Freedom from smoke and people dumb enough to do it.Restaurants casinos and bars should have the freedom to allow smoking sections or not. People should have the freedom to eat in those restaurants. Freedoms are what we are about.
Of course not but hit that bong as you condemn them.Smokers are no longer welcome in our society
No need to coddle their filthy habit
I don't go to those filthy places to begin with. I can't stand cigar smoke but when it was legal I didn't whine about it.Would you support a public pool with a sign that says "peeing welcome"?
The pole says you uber tolerant liberals are in the minority opinion. Bite that off & smoke it
Sure there is. As long as tobacco remains a legal product, Americans have the right to purchase it and use it.After watching a story on the news about banning smoking in public areas- including businesses- forcibly, I realized how wrong that is. On government property- ie streets and government buildings like courthouses- the government should have the ability to ban it. But for privately owned businesses, they should be given the ability to choose. If they ban smoking, smokers can simply go elsewhere. If smoking is allowed, and offends people, said customers can use their competitors instead. As such, a business owner can then allow/disallow smoking if it would help their business. Government doesn't have a right to mandate businesses to ban something, even if it is for "the public's safety". Even that could be disproved by showing that smoking inside a building where everyone is okay with it does not harm those who actually care. And enviromentalists will now proceed to ask about factories pumping pollutants into the atmosphere and try to apply my logic to that. That is a different case, simply because potentially harmful pollutants are being put directly into the atmosphere, whereas smoking in a restaurant hasn't killed anyone walking in the street outside, as far as I know.
Nonsense.
There's no 'right' to smoke.

A pole about how people FEEL with regards to the dangers of second hand smoke? Everyone's a doctor now?The pole says you uber tolerant liberals are in the minority opinion. Bite that off & smoke it
What "pole" is that? Sounds like a personal problem.
Here's some numbers from an actual Gallup poll though...
Look -- here's one for the Deniers:
Poll linked here. With guy wires.
What the fuck does pissing in a pool have to do with smoking? And "I" am sidestepping?I don't go to those filthy places to begin with. I can't stand cigar smoke but when it was legal I didn't whine about it.Would you support a public pool with a sign that says "peeing welcome"?
You're sidestepping.
Let's say you own a business -- let's say a hotel. And it's got a pool. Along comes the big bad State to regulate you out of existence with a law that says you can't let people pee in it. What do you say?
