So democrats do in fact advocate socialism

It appears to point in that direction..

I have plenty of Dem friends. Now if you're not actually looking for debate rebuttals etc...(I got that feeling after you bailed from your last thread), then perhaps we might discuss this.
I would first ask you to define socialism, as - especialy on the net - there seems to be a wide range of definitions. Would this be what your are referring to?:

An economic system in which the means of production are publicly or commonly owned. Characteristics of a socialist economy include the complete elimination of privately owned enterprises.

If so, I can assure you that neither of us will find a socialist on this board and very few in America. If this is not what you are referring to, please clarify. Depending on your definition, you may actually be correct.

I don't think we need complete control of enterprises, only those that are defined as National Security enterprises. These in "part" are energy, oil, electricity, air, water, military, communications, transportation, housing, worker right & benefits and the banking system come to mind.

I don't mind if private enterprises work around the fringes of these core NS systems in a competitive capitalist manner.

I've never know a liberal that wants socialism.

But keep pretending they do, and keep pretending that Obama is a Marxist.

It fits your personality of stupidity and your ability to regurgitate talking points.
Strange... I've never known a liberal who DOESN'T want it to a larger or lesser degree. Usually larger.
I cannot, for the life of me, recall a liberoidal who seeks to move away from socialism.

Well meet me Ravi. I am a socialist democrat and proud of it. I am also a Vietnam combat Veteran 67-68'. Nothing wrong with socialism, it is capitalists best friend.:eusa_angel:

I am also a VietNam Combat Veteran 1969-71.

Nothing wrong with AIDS , it is the best friend of those who are sexually active.

There is also nothing wrong with trojan viruses , they are a computer owner's best friend.

BTW, were you get shot in the head?

No, did you get a punji stick up your ass? If you could show anything wrong with socialism, I would be interested. I doubt you can.

Oh, welcome home brother.

The funny thing is that all of you have grown up in a system with socialist ideas and you do not even know it,

That is such a true statement. Anything controlled or regulated by government is socialists in nature, such as practically everything. Even the churches using gov. handouts.

I have posted on European boards, consistently they have mocked the ignorance the American version of "socialist" and they know true socialism. Some people here, have been suckered by their talking head entertainer's deliberate attempts at misinformation.

Get it straight- the rest of the world knows socialism is democratic and capitalist. Only pub dupes confuse it with communism, totalitarian. Fascism comes from capitalism, one definition is a dictator dominated by or partnered with corporations.

keep pretending that Obama is a Marxist

If you're right, I just handed you the hammer to beat my brains in with. Name a plank of the Communist Manifesto that he opposes. I like how you keep insulting my intelligence then can't just answer simple questions, particularly questions like this that if you're right you can bludgeon me with.

Obama does not believe that all private enterprise should be eliminated. That's one. Want another?

Wait. I could be wrong! Was there somewhere where he said "I want to eliminate all small businesses, all medium businesses, all large businesses!"

Oh wait! I get it! You're going to show me where he said "Now these auto companies / banks are never going to pay us back because we don't want them to. We want to own them."

I mean look, we independents don't like Obama. But this sort of foolishness is basically a Tea Party among the children who all agree with themselves. No one else buys it and reason / facts quickly dispel it.

OMG

Is that what happened to you?

But I don't get it, how is a punji stick up your ass affecting your brain - or, in your case , are they that close to each other?

Well, I admit that I haven't yet had my second dose of Bartholin Gland Extract and I get a tad irritable.

Yeah, I've lived over there off an on. Remember when the "Conservative" party won the German elections earlier this year? American Conservatives were going on and on about it. I got a lot of laughs out of it. Over there, a Conservative is someone who would never dream of taking away Universal Health Care and 50+ other social programs that are just assumed in the rest of the world. Here, they call the equivalent of Interpol, "socialism!"
But I like it here best. We have our strengths and weaknesses like any country but I really like it.
Funny, how the OP who has now made one post implying all Dems are socialist (which he Cut & Ran from) and now another post in which he states the same thing definitively, can't come up with a defiinition for what he is labeling half the country of being....

It appears to point in that direction..

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak,
with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of
responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions."

That's why I gave you a simple test, name a plank of the Communist Manifesto he opposes. You're an independent who gave a typical liberal answer to the question. It's ridiculous!!!!

The Communist manifesto doesn't say all private business will be eliminated. Obama advocates ever tightening controls through mandates, regulation and taxes. You don't have to own it to control it. And he's never done anything that says he actually wants it to be independent, he just hasn't said he doesn't. While his policies are an ever tightening grip. Obamacare being the best example of that. A program that says sure, you can keep your current policy. Obamacare doesn't require employers to stop offering healthcare, it puts them in a position that they will be forced to drop it because a for profit company can't compete with a competitor that can force it's customers to pay more at the point of a gun like government can.

What better measure of a communist then the communist manifesto? That would be...by definition. So stop being a liberal and answer the question. What plank of the communist manifesto does he oppose?
