One of Trump's proposed action will eliminate "sanctuary cities" -- cities that do not deport undocumented immigrant.....Sounds good, but does it not smack just a bit of MORE federal government intrusion on local control?

Just asking.....LOL

It is enforcement of laws which those cities are ignoring. Government intrusion on criminals, pretty funny stuff there.

What part of harboring illegals gives you the must trouble intellectually?

Title 1324 of the 8 U.S. code makes it a crime to transporting or smuggling aliens into the U.S. or harboring them there. The provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his or her legal status.

Class is in session.

Uh I love liberals that read an article but don't understand how things work.
Like drain the swamp, you don't get immigration.
Immigration IS a federal duty, not a local one
Therefore the feds can enact those laws. Abortion and education are NOT federal duties, therfore states and local govt are better to handle those.

You'd think that when someone lives on a msg board, Google wouldn't be so hard...

8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien

So you're FOR cities violating Federal Law and being subsidized with tax dollars to help them continue to break the law? Got it...thanks.

There is no 'local control'. The local authorities are breaking the law, thus the necessity to step in.

Like Barry, tough, you believe Liberals should have the authority to decide for themselves where and when they will adhere to the law and when not to.

Control of immigration has always been seen as a federal mandate, as once inside the borders, States cannot restrict their movements. Thus the Feds control the outer barrier.

If States were allowed to dictate immigration policy, each ones individual preferences would impact other States that may not want the same level of immigration, due to States not being able to control their own internal borders.

Just holding up a mirror to your hypocrisy, right wingers..........When a county does not want a pipeline through their land, what should the government do then???
