Now before some of you brand me an 'Evil Antisemite', just hear me out. This is an issue hardly discussed in the U.S. We all know about the lengths the U.S. and West are going to keep Nukes out of the hands of nations in the Middle East. And that the U.S. was all set to go to war with Syria for possessing chemical weapons.

However, Syria has signed and ratified the Chemical Weapons Ban Treaty. While Israel is actually one of the few nations on earth that hasn't ratified the Treaty. It also hasn't signed on to other Treaties pertaining to arms. So why the double standard U.S. policy in regards to Israel? Just interested in hearing what you all think. Thanks.

Prove they have chemical weapons and nukes. No one has proven it yet. :dunno:
(Oh just to make sure, unsubstantiated allegations and flights of fancy do not constitute proof).

Why hasn't Israel ratified weapons treaties like the Chemical Weapons Ban Treaty? It's one of the very few nations on earth that hasn't signed on to some of these treaties.

So? Why the fuck should I care? I don't live in Israel.

It's widely accepted Israel possesses both Chemical Weapons and Nukes.

regarding the nukes-----the FACT is that Israel had nukes long before
the TREATY WAS INVENTED---------their right to not sign the treaty ----is
simple----no nation has a legal obligation to sign a treaty. Their right
to have nukes is GRANDFATHERED into the system just as it is for the
USA

Since when does "widely accepted" constitute proof? Kinda like it's "widely accepted" that aliens are preforming genetic experiments on us or that it's "widely accepted" that the government is beaming thoughts into our heads......... :lmao:

Because Israel is only NINE miles wide at one point and surrounded by hostile neighbors who'd pounce in an instant if they thought they could win. A nuke strike in Tel Aviv would cripple them. It's simply a matter of mutually shared destruction....the one thing an arab understands is terror and they're terrified, and rightfully so, of the IDF's ability and inclination to retaliate ten-fold if need be.

what are you calling "chemical weapons" ? The term is meaningless. There are some chemical weapons-----sorta ILLEGAL----one of them is nitrogen mustard gas---
since World War I the only people to use nitrogen mustard gas has been Baathist
pigs. It is a german invention----given over to arabs by their Nazi allies
in the world war II era and passed on to GAMEL ABDEL NASSER of the UAR -
(for those who do not know----the UAR was Nasser's baby------it is another term for
ARAB CALIPHATE---(it did not work out for him---but in an attempt to pursue it in Yemen----he used nitrogen mustard gas on women and children in the early fifties---- for the GLORY OF THE BAATHIST CALIPHATE

No, we were prepared to go to war with Syria for USING chemical weapons. A big difference which goes to the whole point of why we can live with some countries having such weapons but cannot live with other countries which do.

Israel, and Pakitstan, and India are not signatories to the Anti-proliferation Treaty and so are allowed to have nukes (because they never agreed not to). Same thing with Israel and the Chemical weapons ban..we can't insist someone follow a treaty they're not party to.

Well, others in the Midle East would argue that if Israel has the right to posess Nuclear Weapons, why don't they have that same right?

Israel is widely believed to have nukes. However, Israel prefers it not be proven. Ambiguity allows them to not have to renounce nukes and be pressured into joining the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Every sovereign nation has the right to own nukes. Even Iran. Even Iraq.

But every other sovereign nation has the right to enact trade and diplomatic sanctions against a country for having nukes.

Iran did not have to enter in a nuclear agreement with the US and the other five nations. They could have blown us all off, but then would have had to continue to live under very stiff sanctions which they could not afford.

because Israel does not want to-------nations are not legally bound to ratify treaties
