Read the transcript of Trump's phone call Mexico's president. President Pena refers to Trump with "Mr. President." Trump calls President Pena "Enrique."

WTH? Why is Trump so presumptuous of familiarity with another head of state and one he only barely knows?

You want Trump to call him a thief who encourages his people to invade their next door neighbor and drain them of their resources?

Lol, documents that aren't authenticated, but supposedly reproductions, because they want to protect their sources. Reminds of the wp 'leak' of the Australian phone call that was a farce.

He did it to piss you off and give you something else to bitch and whine about. IT WORKED!

Why the hell is a question of international etiquette or lack thereof in politics? Cripes this is becoming a really shitty Political forum.

Oh no, a other snowflake meltdown thread.

Hardly a meltdown. Diplomacy has always been a precise endeavor where each party is expected to show the proper respect, and any deviation from the set procedure had meaning. Lots of pomp and circumstance, where a variation of the norm can cause problems between countries, or even war. Trump is too stupid to understand that, and if he has anyone around him that can explain it, Trump is to stupid to listen to them. He's a fat overbearing jerk, and world leaders have realized that as he, and our country are ignored or laughed at.

And the meltdown snowballs, how typical.

What I'm doing with the remarks in my OP isn't called "bitching and whining." It's called "deriding" and it's a very different thing from complaining and crying.

obama did it the worst...in public not in private......He would be called President obama by Merkle, and he would call her Angela at press conferences......didn't hear you complain when he did that in public....

That's considered polite, compared with calling Cruz "Lying Ted." In Trump's world, maybe it's a compliment not to have him attach a "title" to your name...

Yeah, at least he didn't call him Moneybags, right?

My favorite part was when he told Moneybags Enrique that he wanted him to just go along with him so his (33%) base wouldn't catch on he was lying, that it would look bad for him.

Ok sweetie, whatever you say.

"Moving parts in rubbing contact require lubrication to
avoid excessive wear. Honorifics and formal politeness provide
lubrication where people rub together. Often the very
young, the untraveled, the naive, the unsophisticated deplore
these formalities as "empty," "meaningless," or "dishonest."
and scorn to use them. No matter how "pure" their motives,
they thereby throw sand into machinery that does not work
too well at best." -- Robert Heinlein

The entire point of making this transcript public was to pick it apart to find any thing that could be used to embarass the president.
