THOUGHTS FROM AN INDEPENDENT:
Politicians (from both sides) do stupid things sometimes that disrupt our lives and inconvenience us, no doubt about it, but how often does that really happen? As a small business owner, I often have to look in the mirror and find no one to blame but myself for the problems I face, and I think this applies to everyone regardless of political leanings, for example:
* Do you make smart food choices? Or do you eat over processed foods full of empty calories?
* Do you save at least 10% of your income and build a nest egg? or do you splurge on must have stuff you don't really need?
* Do you exercise daily? Or do you make excuses?
* Do you have a written financial plan you follow? Or do you just drift along?
* Do you get your news from one source? Or are you willing to listen to a variety of views?
* Do you focus 100% on your work, or do you do just enough to get by?
* Do you read on a regular basis? Or is TV your sole source of information?
These are things I sometimes struggle with as well. Yes, politicians sometimes do stupid things, but more often than not we are our own driving force....and we are our own brake.
