An assault rifle is a 'thing' it has no rights. I am an American citizen. I have a First Amendment right just like every other American citizen.

I dont have the right to shout fire in a theater when there is none. Just like you have the right to own a hunting rifle but not a firearm designed to be used in modern war.

But you do have a constitutional right to bear arms so long as you present no danger to yourself or others and use those arms for no illegal purposes just as you have a constitutional right to say what you know, believe, think, advocate for so long as you are not using that speech intentionally to illegally harm others.

The right to bear arms is limited. And yes that limit at which certain arms are not protected by the Second Amendment is when a firearm is designed for inflicting mass casualties within military conflicts. The AR15 fits that purpose.

Using an AR15 for no illegal purpose is not protected by the Second Amendment and it should not be. The fact that the Constitutional 1994 AW ban was allowed to expire in 2004 is unfortunate. Hopefully the politics that allowed that ban to expire has changed sufficiently to bring that ban back. When these kids remain fixated on voting sanity into the older adults in this world.

The left is exploiting the ignorant young people in an attempt to play on people's feelings. All the while, they spout lies about gun owners.

The truth is far different than the liberal talking points. If it were about safety, they would spend time trying to solve other problems. They would also be more concerned about dealing with the root problem of violence in this country.

They want people disarmed because tyrants fear people when they hold the power. Our constitution guaranteed that the people would hold power and the government, a necessary evil, would be kept in check. The government has been out of control for ages and it's time to turn it around, not allow them to continue stripping our rights.

The left hates facts. They are all about playing on people's fears. They convinced some useful idiots that eliminating one of our rights will solve a problem that they have blown way out of proportion. All they want is to control people and that means taking away our right to defend our lives. God help us if these extremists get their way. There is only one possible ending when we head down that road.

The facts do not support the left's assertions. Take away their false claims and you understand that they do have motives for wanting to disarm us and it has nothing to do with saving lives.
