Curiously, weren't both of these guys RUSSIANS?

Nobody mentions these long-dead guys except right-wingers. Yes. They were Russians. But so is Putin, and you folks love Putin and his servant trump.

Beware Loser....many, many of these loons will be voting in November.....Can you say...Blue Wave?

True...and I suspect all your candidates will run as Republican-lites like your boy in PA did....right?

Always do. And republicans run as democrat lights where then feel they need to. But way more interesting is the number of Republicans who have decided not to run at all. Because, of course, they see the end of the line.

I’m curious...what motivates you to vote Mexicrat?
What’s the personal interest you vote on?
Economics, mostly. And that democrats, me boy, actually use their brains.

That's what's in the buckets for the kids to toss, demoquack brains

Got the local DC news on. It's great! Teenagers and their families are already out there for the March For Our Lives., although the event doesn't officially begin until noon. It's a beautiful sunny day, too. Although I hate crowds, I really should get out there in my sensible shoes and jump on metro. It's so wonderful to see the younger generation taking up the fight for a better, safer America!

There is a wonderful 15-year-old being interviewed right now, who said that her mission was to get voters to commit to register, and that her personal goal was to sign of 17 people, one for each person gunned down at Parkland. She is one of those young people who are working to make America great. How beautiful to see young people like her.

How is anything they propose going to make America safer?

Criminals will ignore their proposals and mass shooters can obey them and still murder people...this is nothing but exploitation by democrats to gain power......and you are the useful idiot the socialists talk about...

Horseshit. First, get rid of military weaponry of the automatic bullet-spraying variety. This would help tremendously. You are the useful idiot in this situation. Who cares what economic format one supports, as they have all failed at one point or another, and this isn't about economics, anyway.

Just who do these macho insecure "men" who want them intend to shoot at, anyway? They have never said who or what they are so afraid of that stepping over the bodies of the gunned down in schools, theaters, concerts, and restaurants is acceptable because they "need" their weapons.

I will not forget seeing videos of a gaggle of white male nuts standing around on a street corner in texas or somewhere costumed in camouflage, brandishing automatic weapons, members of these right-wing white "militia" gangs playing army in the woods, some guy who supposedly was a sworn police officer and police chief rapid-firing an automatic weapon into the air and yelling about "them!", whomever "them" was supposed to be.

Just whom do they want to shoot at? Their fellow Americans? Undocumented, but unarmed, immigrants? Canadians climbing over the transom?

You do realize that there is no place for vigilantism in the United States, don't you? Not only is it illegal and inconsistent with American values, the people who wish to take part in it are entirely unqualified to function as judge, jury, and executioner on U.S. streets, and have not been given any authority by the public to do so.

It's high time for some truth-telling by these gun-worshipers, who don't want to be responsible to the society in which they live.

First, get rid of military weaponry of the automatic bullet-spraying variety

None of the mass public shooters have used a military weapon ...the AR-15 is not a military weapon, it is not a weapon of war and has never been used by the military...and it doesn't spray bullets...it is the same rifle as every other semi auto rifle and pistol....of which there are close to if not over 600 million in private hands......

I will not forget seeing videos of a gaggle of white male nuts standing around on a street corner in texas or somewhere costumed in camouflage, brandishing automatic weapons,

Again...those were not automatic weapons......you don't know what you are talking about...and another note? Those guys standing on the corner weren't shooting anyone, were they? The ones doing all of the shooting are minorities in our democrat controlled inner cities.....

And lawn mowers kill over 75 people every single year.....which is a bigger number than each of our mass public shootings.....knives kill more people than the rifles you hate, as do clubs and empty hands...do you want to ban these items too?

You do realize that there is no place for vigilantism in the United States, don't you? Not only is it illegal and inconsistent with American values, the people who wish to take part in it are entirely unqualified to function as judge, jury, and executioner on U.S. streets, and have not been given any authority by the public to do so.

You keep making things up......what vigilantism have they engaged in? However ....as more Americans own and carry guns...our violent crime rate has gone down, not up....unlike Britain where they did what you want and their gun crime is going up, not down...

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...
-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Get rid of guns that spray bullets, automatic and semi-automatic weapons. Get rid of the people who behave as a direct threat to the communities of the United States. You have not explained these guys and their directly anti-social behavior and antics. Who are they? Who do they want to shoot at? You have not explained why these guys were standing on a city street corner carrying guns. You haven't explained about the antics of the police chief. We will not be overrun by armed and insane thugs.

The sad thing is that they will demand that there be more gun control. And nobody will be demanding an end to policies that have decimated so much of the American home, have taken fathers out of the equation, that have driven religious faith from the schools etc. that has created a new American culture that breeds school shooters and other sociopathic crime.

Articulate post Fox, but containing flawed reasoning. Is Connecticut demanding further gun control than the fairly dramatic steps they've already taken? Not to my knowledge, nor am I familiar with anyone in the state who has lost their 2nd amendment rights. That argument is akin to "creeping Sharia" - It simply does not exist.

Nobody has driven religious faith from schools. We have a separation of church and state, therefore public schools are out of bounds for proselytizing. Additionally, there are too many different faiths in this diverse nation of ours to spend all day teaching each one. Kids can choose a world religion or philosophy class in high school or college and practice their personal religion outside the classroom. I took several such classes in college and loved each one.

'A new American culture breeding school shooters' ? Sorry, school shooters are bred via any combination of poor parenting, lack of mental health focus, video games creating numbness to violence, alienation, and a culture awash with guns and supported by the NRA and their bought and paid for politicians. They are a protection racket representing manufacturers and not much else.

And those are the things that have created a new American culture, one that must be looked at hard - not dismissed with thoughts, prayers and business as usual.

Yeah, that would be terrible. How does that stack up against a nut case getting an AR and killing tens of people, me boy. Must be much worse. I mean, not having an AR or missing your day at the capital building must be about as bad as those 50 people who were killed. Though, in my humble but correct opinion, you could just not have the ability to shoot an ar and have the results we see in other countries, with no mass killings.

And what countries would that be? The ones with much higher percentages of households with guns than we have but that are small, homogenous populations with decent shared values and strong emphasis on personal responsibility and accountablility? The ones like Finland and Switzerland have very low crime rates involving guns or anything else.

Or countries like Honduras with rigid gun controls and ranked 88th in the world for the number of households with legal guns but has the highest homicide rate in the world, more than 76% due to gun crime?

The problem is not the number or type of weapons. The problem is a cultural one. Create a society in which personal responsibility and accountability is expected of all citizens, put biological fathers back into the homes, and allow God or religious faith that inspires peace and appreciation for life back into the schools and other public institutions, and I am reasonably certain that within a generation we won't be seeing guns as much of a public issue at all.

How about France, The UK, Germany, Spain, Australia, and many others.
And relative to your argument about culture, perhaps you can tell me how that is going to stop the killers who shot and killed the people in the Florida school, in Las Vegas, In the southern church, and on and so forth. How about Texas. How about Colorado.
Those killers could care less about your cultural dreams and your religions.
Just as in Australia. Where in 1996 there was a mass killings. Here is a recent report on their experience:
"Australia hadn't experienced a fatal mass shooting — one in which five or more people are killed — since the 1996 shooting. In the 18 years prior, 1979-1996, there were 13 fatal mass shootings"
Australia hasn't had a fatal mass shooting since 1996. Here's what it did
No other advanced nation of the world has anything close to the number of mass shootings we have. And all here, and the one in Australia in 1996, So your retort makes no sense. None at all. You see, the one difference between us and the other advanced countries of the world is that in all the others, they ban the sale of assault rifles.

So long as we ignore the destruction done to our culture, no amount of gun control is going to make that much difference. The USA is not any other country and there is no country in the world that can we can measure ourselves by their yardstick. So long as the left, and even some on the right, blame the guns or other things that are the symptoms rather than the root cause and ignore the factors that are making us a less successful society, no amount of laws, rules, regulation, or stripping people of their rights will make much difference if any.
A couple things to consider before ignoring all the possible causes of gun violence.

First, the mentally ill. We would have to have a thorough list, diagnosis protocol, recognition by the states, HIPA regulations, state responsibility in treatment and housing. Who shares the data, how is the data edited and updated? Are we in America crazier than any other society and amalgam of demographics? How best to give victims of gun violence mental health therapy?

Second, the availability of guns. Who is old nough to buy guns? How comprehensive is a background check system? Are all gun sales subject to a background check? How many guns could an individual buy at one time without a commercial license?

Third, cultural influences. Can it be proven that violent movies and video games influence mass shooters and other violent criminals? Should all aspects of cultural influences be considered? If it is shown that the aesthetic styling of weapons is a contributing factor, would the gun makers be willing to change the design of some weapons?

Fourth, could it be argued and accepted as fact that there is no mention of confiscation or banning has been mentioned in my 'couple of things to consider' list? None of those considerations would infringe on the rights of gun owners. You would still be able to protect your lives and property.

Finally, I would disagree that we cannot solve this problem no matter what. Any problem created by the mind and folly of man can be solved by the mind and the conscience of man.

Nobody questions that the mentally ill who are a danger to themselves or others must be dealt with. And I have for some time now believed we can turn the culture away from mindset and policy and wrong thinking that creates these sociopathic terrorist types. We didn't have them before we made biological fathers unnecessary, before we made God unwelcome in the schools, before we replaced heroes and challenge and courage in entertanment with desensitizing violence, anti heroes and glorifying who once would have been seen as despicable, and tearing down unifying traditions such as reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, pride and respect for the flag and the National Anthem, love and pride in country etc.

Until we address that, more and more gun control is just whistling in the wind.

So you think that these things are unique to our country, me boy. They are not. They are, in fact, part of every country in the world, in pretty much the same numbers as in our country.
Now, as a con troll, I am sure you believe you have the answer. In fact, you are looked at as part of the problem by those trying to analyze and find solutions. Because, with your simplistic mind, and your iron clad believe in con talking points and NRA talking points, you simply have the problem entirely wrong. And, you and your brethern just get in the way and allow more mass killings. Which, me con troll, makes you part of the problem, and not any part of the solution.

Yup. almost entirely agree.
I tend to look at the rest of the world as a good place to scrub our policies against. What are the differences and how does it work out for them, as compared how things work for us. But we must remove the extraneous variable, like the NRA, like the huge number of guns, and other less important factors, to se what can be done. Because, the NRA is interested only in profits of gun and ammo makers. The 2nd amendment nuts only want their gun rights, and to hell with mass shootings. So, how have other countries handled the issue.

Maybe they just want a better country.

Maybe they want a country where your choice is between a corrupt party which doesn't care about the people, or a corrupt party which doesn't care about the people.

Maybe they want a country that tops the crime statistics for First World nations while also topping the prison population for all nations bar one at the last count.

Maybe they want a country that doesn't have the worst distribution of wealth for First World countries.

Maybe they want a country where politicians aren't on the take from large multi-nationals and the top 0.1%

Maybe they want a country where people in Wyoming have three times more vote in Presidential elections than people in California or Texas, or where the votes of people in 38 states don't actually matter in a Presidential election.

Maybe they want a country that actually cares about its people instead of making healthcare more and more corrupt and more about profits.

Maybe they want a country that promotes healthy food and not sugary foods from large multi-national corporations.

Maybe they want something better than the shit they're served up.

Thanks greatly for a thoughtfull post. Keep at it, because you and a few others help offset the brain dead who want to support the status quo.

Good points. Do I think we can adopt policies such as exist in say Europe? No, even though 78% of the American public don't own a gun, there are 300 million plus of them and there is no going back. I'm a gun owner and believer in the 2nd amendment and don't fear someone "grabbing it". But the 2nd is not without limits.

States that have created rules have all been backed by SCOTUS. That is not to say that we shouldn't take a hard look what other countries (and those states) have done and how the things they've done are working for them. Buyback programs, age requirements and enhanced BG checks have been successful. Doing nothing is a colossal failure.

Mayor of D.C. Proclaims loudly and often that she "hates guns" this is the base of all this, the emotion of hate
I respect guns I hunted and I know what they can do. My perspective is fact.
Little more parenting and would not have very isolated wack job teens running around blasting away but Libs prefer emotion as default

I have a number of guns, and have hunted for over 50 years. And I am of the opinion that no one needs an assault rifle.
Except those that can not shoot straight.

People who don't hunt, who don't do recreational shooting of any kind, and who will probably never face a threatening situation requiring the use of a firearm technically don't NEED a firearm of any kind. But the second amendment says absolutely nothing about anybody's personal need. It does suggest that when citizens are called to defend their country, they should be allowed arms to do so. In such a case an AR type weapon might come in very handy.

But we don't NEED many things that we like to have. What logic applies for somebody like me to not have an AR-14 rifle? I have never used a gun in any manner to threaten somebody or defend myself and have never harmed a living thing with any kind of weapon except maybe a tree if I missed the target, but if I just enjoy having an AR-15 in my collection, what harm is there in that?

And what principle of the constitution says that my rights to a peaceful outing with my family to visit the U.S. Capital Building or any other site should be cancelled or made inadvisable because the place is flooded with a bunch of angry people most likely practicing poor citizenship and might or might not be dangerous to innocent bystanders?
Yeah, that would be terrible. How does that stack up against a nut case getting an AR and killing tens of people, me boy. Must be much worse. I mean, not having an AR or missing your day at the capital building must be about as bad as those 50 people who were killed. Though, in my humble but correct opinion, you could just not have the ability to shoot an ar and have the results we see in other countries, with no mass killings.

Like France? ROFLMAO

"Two researchers -- Jaclyn Schildkraut of the State University of New York in Oswego and H. Jaymi Elsass of Texas State University -- analyzed mass shootings in 11 countries, covering the period from 2000-14. Aside from the United States, they looked at Australia, Canada, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Norway and Switzerland.

The United States has more mass shootings -- and more people cumulatively killed or injured -- than the other 10 nations combined,
according to their research. While part of this is because the United States has a much bigger population than all but China, the difference can’t be explained by skewed population numbers alone.

When adjusted for population, the United States ranks in the upper half of their list of 11 countries, ranking higher than Australia, Canada, China, England, France, Germany and Mexico. The United States did rank lower than three countries -- Norway, Finland and Switzerland -- but they have populations so small that one or two mass-casualty events can produce a relatively high per capita rate."
What we know about mass shootings

Yup, including France. I know that the NRA has a campaign trying to tell people more die in France, but as is normal for the NRA, they are simply lying. And it is not even close. Any other stupid questions, me boy?

.

Sounds like a perfect time to go loot their homes and take the stuff they looted last time and put it back!

hehe

How would you like to sit in school and wonder if a shooter is going to kill you today, a great learning environment isn't it.
Then how about allowing staff to be armed so they can shoot the killers like they did in Maryland?

They will BEG Father Government to strip them of constitutional rights granted by our founders...they will beg to be protected from themselves and the very same lowlifes they stand shoulder to shoulder with....haha
Think about that...you can’t make this shit up. Do we really need to wonder why nobody sane can take these Loons serious?

The constitution doesn't give you the right to own a gun, you ignorant shithead.
