It's becoming increasingly obvious that attitudes that foster a 'culture' of wars, killing, and violence is responsible.
On a possible bright note, the current rise in shootings could be temporary in that the scale of war America is engaging in now is almost certainly going to be it's ultimate war and the culmination of all of it's wars for singular world power.
The reason why this war can't be either won or lost, could bring a calming effect over the crazed extremists that are now proclaiming their need for gun action so openly.
It can't get worse than a war with another super power! It can only lead to futility in the use of lethal force for the socalled 'good guys' with guns!

The only place people are normally in danger from being shot is in the inner cities and the violence there is gang driven. Americans have always proclaimed a need for guns. I went to an urban high school and we had a championship small-bore rifle team.
