Socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Socialism is a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership and democratic control of the means of production,[7] as well as the political ideologies, theories, and movements that aim at their establishment.[8] Social ownership may refer to public ownership, cooperative ownership, citizen ownership of equity, or any combination of these.[9] Although there are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them,[10] social ownership is the common element shared by its various forms.[5][11][12]

The national socialists in Germany were in fact socialists...and therefore left wing, not right wing......they were not capitalists, they hated capitalism, they did not believe in free speech or individual rights.......

Try to actually think about this...I know the left wing nutters have told you for years the national socialists were Right wing...but that is only because the mass murder of the national socialists was open for the world to see, while the communists, the international socialists, did their mass murder in isolated areas......

So if they can't get morons like you to believe the national socialists were right wing...then they have to accept that the greates mass murder in the modern period was done by left wing socialists............

Kind of harms the image of the left wing socialists......

The OED's definition of "fascism" says it all.

Emphasis mine.

So, the word 'socialist' in the acronym "NAZI" refers to the sort of "social organization" mentioned in the definition above.

I think Jim Marrs summed it up best when he compared WWII-era fascism to that which prevails in 'the Western World' today. Whereas Hitler and Mussolini sought to bring corporations under government control, corporations (and related entities) have today succeeded to a large extent in bringing governments under their control. The end result is similar -- a fascistic system that benefits the controllers over the vast majority of the controlled.

I already explained to you that the Nazis were facists not socialists.

You didn't drive anything home, you just posted a picture.

You also didn't answer the question what the difference is between fascist Germany and communist Russia. So?

I gave you one, which is the Nazis have a figurehead owner like Krupp, but they had no power, the company was controlled by government just like in Russia. Yet you are saying they are polar opposites. So back it up, how were they different?
I didnt answer the question because i said nothing about Russia.

I didnt say anyone was polar opposites. I said Nazis were right wing.

And what is at the left wing of your picture? Jesus man, how clueless are you?

Your chart shows Communists and Nazis at opposite ends of the spectrum, which is why I am asking you how they are different. Stop being a dumb ass and address the question
No you asked me how the russians and the nazis were different. I dont have time to play games with semantics. If you want to know how they were different you can figure that out for yourself.
Forget it, man. Unless you "admit" to the retards there is no such thing as right wing extremism, nothing will penetrate their alleged minds.

Right wing extremism.....is the guy who goes off into the woods to get away from government ......that is the opposite of the left wing..they want more and more government.

That's it exactly. The idea that a centrally controlled economy is "right wing" is just stupid. It's the crappy education that people get in government schools

According to YOUR link he was a convicted felon with a gun. So yes of course he was arrested moron. That is how gun laws {REAL ONES} work.

The guns in question are NOT illegal. His having them were.
IDIOT.

But DarkFury you don't understand. If we just melted down all the guns then nobody would ever harm children again. Why can't you see how simple this is? We should spend all the money we spend on guns to provide bathrooms for people who are confused about their gender.

I said nothing about the russians. I said the Nazis were nationalists. True a picture doesnt really mean much. I just posted that to drive home the point that nationalism is a far right ideology which was the main thrust of the Nazis.

You didn't drive anything home, you just posted a picture.

I asked you how the COMMUNIST Russians and the NAZI Germans are different. You keep focusing on "Russian" and "German" when the point is "Communist" and "Nazi."

This is of course because they aren't different and you lost, so you're being intentionally an idiot and acting like you don't get the question. You're running away because you do get the question
No you simply said Russians. Do I have to post your first question? The point is that i am talking about the nazis not the russians. You are deflecting because you dont want to accept the fact that the nazis were right wing.

There is no such thing as right wing extremism!

The KKK? Oh, those are old liberal Democrats!

The Nazis? Oh, those are left wingers, too! Honk if you love negroes and Jews!

Actually I keep saying COMMUNISTS. How are Communists the opposite of Nazis? How are they even different? In what possible way is that question unclear to you? The Russians are one example of Communists. North Korea, China, Cuba, they are all nationalistic too. Stop dancing and address the question. You claimed communist is the left end of the spectrum and Nazi the right end. Yet they are the same. Nazi stands for socialist and their policies were socialist and they called themselves socialists. And communists are nationalistic just like Nazis. They are the same, not opposite.

You may now proceed to duh, you don't get the question again ..

Nope.....socialism means the government controls the means of production....the national socialists controlled every aspect of their economy.....it has to be authoritarian or you can't control the economy......and yes....they put Right Wing in there....because they too don't understand the difference between left and right...

This is just about the best definition of Facism you are going to find.....outside of Hayek or Mises.....

Fascism: The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics | Library of Economics and Liberty

As an economic system, fascism is socialism with a capitalist veneer.

The word derives from fasces, the Roman symbol of collectivism and power: a tied bundle of rods with a protruding ax.

In its day (the 1920s and 1930s), fascism was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone liberal capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and revolutionary Marxism, with its violent and socially divisive persecution of the bourgeoisie.

Fascism substituted the particularity of nationalism and racialism—“blood and soil”—for the internationalism of both classical liberalism and Marxism.

Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners.

Where socialism nationalized property explicitly, fascism did so implicitly, by requiring owners to use their property in the “national interest”—that is, as the autocratic authority conceived it. (Nevertheless, a few industries were operated by the state.)

Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities. Where socialism abolished money and prices, fascism controlled the monetary system and set all prices and wages politically.

In doing all this, fascism denatured the marketplace.Entrepreneurship was abolished. State ministries, rather than consumers, determined what was produced and under what conditions.

Yeah..I get it. They put right wing in the definition so that means it is right wing.....care to explain how exactly it is right wing....what makes it different from left wing....the definition I posted explains fascism exactly.......

Left wing....big, central government

RIght wing,...small, constrained central government.

Left wing....group rights trump individual rights.

right wing...individual rights and Liberty trumps group rights.

Left wing...believes in socialism.

right wing...free markets and capitalism.

which has more in common with the national socialists.

Apart from the definitive pronouncements in the Oxford English and Merriam-Webster dictionaries, scholars have traditionally associated fascism with "right wing" extremism at least in part because of its authoritarian approach to opposing egalitarianism.

In the words of Rod Stackelberg: "The more a person deems absolute equality among all people to be a desirable condition, the further left he or she will be on the ideological spectrum. The more a person considers inequality to be unavoidable or even desirable, the further to the right he or she will be."

And as noted about the fascist state by Sheldon Richman (from the link you provided): "...it was the state’s prerogative to use force, or the threat of it, to suppress even peaceful opposition. "

Clearly, an inequity of power between the rulers and the ruled was to be maintained (by force, when necessary), thereby delineating the most crucial anti-egalitarian aspect of fascism.

Having said that, your preferred source was also right on the money with this: "...fascism is socialism with a capitalist veneer...[and] was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone liberal capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and revolutionary Marxism, with its violent and socially divisive persecution of the bourgeoisie. "

It was indeed a centrist philosophy composed of ideas from both the left and the right. This was particularly true of Hitler's brand of fascism vis-à-vis nationalist socialism. So, although most scholars seem to feel they should be pointed more often at the right, I'll concede that fingers can correctly be pointed in both directions.

What I said earlier in this thread still stands, though. As far as American neo-nazism is concerned, it's primarily an ideology adhered to by far right wackos. Some introspection and thought as to why that is might not be a bad idea for you.

And they are wrong. Everything listed applies to socialism. The main point is that it is, in fact socialism...it is not a happy medium...that is what is meant by veneer.....

Do the neo nazis want free markets, limited government, all people being treated equally...? I thought not.....they too are left wingers if they want to increase the power of the state...
