Executive Director of Communications and Marketing of Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (CISD), Anne Marie Espinoza, announced that Robb Elementary was under a lockdown status and the students and teachers were secured.

“Robb Elementary is under a Lockdown Status. Robb Elementary Parents: Please know at this time Robb Elementary is under a Lockdown Status due to gun shots in the area. The students and staff are safe in the building. The building is secure in a Lockdown Status. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as the Lockdown Status is lifted you will be notified. Thank you for your cooperation!” the announcement stated.

The two teachers? More than likely just didn't lock down their classrooms......in the local school district a lockdown order means all classrooms and offices are locked.....they may not have done it through negligence......and paid for that mistake with the horror...
