Good to know there are still people who respect their heritage. The school defended its right to keep the symbol of the South. The school authorities didn't fall for the trend and decided to keep honoring its traditions. I hope there will be more people standing for their rights in America. I'm regularly checking my Alma mater's web page to see if my mascot is still intact.

Effingham County High School Rebels, Springfield, GA.

My class ring has "Johnny Reb" holding the flag on one side and underneath the stone is two crossed rebel flags.

Though the name "Rebel" is still there, it's hard to find a rebel flag pictured on campus.
Planning vacation there, next month.....might have to swing by and see

I fully support the battle flag and I support the Texas school making a stand. I married a Texan....they are fierce and won't hesitate to defend what they believe. A fine trait
