I've looked at this as a sociological issue from Day One. I just don't know if we've learned anything.
Did he raise federal taxes on the poor and middle class??

Trump tax returns raise alarms about fairness of US tax code
A preliminary review of the thousands of pages of Donald Trump’s tax returns released by a key congressional committee on Friday confirms that the former president was using business losses in the …thehill.com
In his own grotesque, perverse way, Donald Trump has put a mirror up to America's face and taught us three critical lessons:
1. We need to examine how a society can become so sick that it would put someone like him in its ultimate position of authority -- the true TDS.
2. His taxes have driven home the fact that our tax system has holes so big that you can drive a semitruck through them, and must be fixed immediately.
3. We have to fix a political system in which empty, soulless people in media and politics are incentivized and rewarded for enabling a person like this.
As I always say, this has never been about Donald Trump. It's about us. Will this be an educational experience for us? Doubtful, but we can certainly hope.

Selling $600 or more on peer-to-peer apps? Expect a 1099-K - NerdWallet
Did he raise taxes on the rich like he promised?
Not to mention making filing returns more complicated for many who isn't due to pay a penny on taxes on any of the money.
The 1099-K form will report your total income in gross reportable transactions and doesn’t adjust for credits, fees, refunds or discounts. You’ll have to clarify those differences for the IRS.
this is his personal tax returns the writer is discussing and the federal govt has said there is nothing wrong with his business taxesThat's what his businesses claimed until it was shown that wasn't the case.
That has always been the case--getting a 1099 if you made more than $600. The only thing new is the methods of getting paid--electronic payments.

when will xiden release his corp tax returns?
Boom! Its news to you that the tax system is screwed up?
Where have you been?
Since you cant find anything illegal in trump’s taxes you are reduced to wagging a moral finger of outrage at him for not paying more tax than he had to

No. It was and has been $600 since at least 2008 when I had to pay taxes on a few thousand dollars I earned doing a side business. It was 20K. It's also as I noted, making tax filing more complicated for the poor and middle class.

The only difference now is that the IRS is reminding people that the gig economy doesn't get a pass on the tax.

Not the case...The previous requirement for these payments was 20K.
The IRS also noted that the existing 1099-K reporting threshold of $20,000 in payments from over 200 transactions will remain in effect.
While the $600 has been delayed (and hopefully done away with) the IRS notes the old rules are still in effect, noted above.
Not the case...

Now there is probably some question about how aggressive the IRS was about going after a $601 payment for temporary or intermittent work. But the $600 threshold is codified in the IRS statement linked.
