The defence of the Kenosha killer

So you goofy Trumpers are really going to say that, if you were on trial for your lives for two murders, and an attorney wanted to take your case, and he said he was really famous but had never participated in a criminal trial, much less a murder trial...

...you would hire this lawyer?

If he had the track record of Lin Wood and came with Fight Back Foundation lawyers, sure.

You are dismissing the entire case or you simply don't know. Kyle Rittenhouse didn't hire anyone. His entire case was taken by the Fight Back Foundation. His bail was paid by donations through the Fight Back Foundation. They are supplying their own lawyers. They accepted the offer of Lin Wood to be lead.

I'm going with you don't know so made it all up.
No you would not. You shameless liar.

The problem here is that the Rittenhouse defense team will need hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight these False Charges. And the kid is only 17 and doesn't have that kind of scratch.

I suppose that Rittenhouse could go with a public defender instead, would that be more or less likely (in your opinion) of resulting in exoneration than a high profile lawyer like Lin Wood?

[This space is left empty, much like what westwall has between his ears]

Thats what these asshats hope for. PD's with rare exceptions, are simply not very good.

Bullshit, you have no clue about Public Defenders. You're not only a liar, you are an ignorant one.

Yeah, I do. One of my friends is one of the rare good ones in Santa Clara County.

You forget, dumbshit, I have LOTS of connections in law enforcement in the Bay Area.

Hell. I could figure out who you were if I cared.

Based on your posts I would hazard a guess that you know the last name Sonnet.

Actually, there are a lot of tremendous public defenders who are perfectly capable of defending accused chicken thieves, loiterers and mattress tag rippers.

But when you are talking about Political Show Trials like the Rittenhouse Affair, its a different story entirely, and no , you don't want a PD.

I was interested to read that Lin Wood is defending this young man and I was wondering if this is in his best interests, The outcomes could be very serious and the boy needs a competent attorney not a certifiable loon.

Is he responsible for appointing his own team or do his parents have a say ?

Lin Wood is a tremendous attorney, with impeccable credentials.

He represented the late Richard Jewell successfully against the media , when the Media attempted to lynch him for the Atlanta bombings in 1996.

He is also representing Nick Sandmann and has received massive settlements already against some of the defendants.

You might think he's a "loon", but Attorney Lin Wood is as capable as any to get the young man exonerated.

But does the ability to win Libel and Slander equate to defending someone falsely accused of murder? Different sets of lawyer skills I would thing...

Nope, not at all. Good lawyers are good because they don't miss things. A real good personal injury lawyer can get you an extra 50,000 bucks because of the way a sentence is worded.

Real good lawyers, look at how the personal injury lawyer worded his document, and they either copy it, or figure out how to improve it. What they don't do is go into a Courtroom blind. They do their research, and they don't miss things.

I'm not debating that.....but libel and slander laws are different from murder trials.....tricks of the trade are different. He needs a good attorney who has handled murder trials rather than libel and slander.

You don't think Wood has a specialist on his team? Really? Wood is the consummate professional. He has a coroner on his team, he has a use of force expert on his team, he has a firearms expert on his team, he has hired a trials science company.

Trust me, it's not one guy. It's a veritable army.

Yes.....but it would be better if he lead, the guy in charge, was an expert in murder trials.........as a libel and slander attorney, he may not understand the advise and information given to him by those experts and how to use it to the best advantage in defending against a murder charge.

Kyle Rittenhouse is a NATIONAL HERO AND WILL WALK FREE!

I bet this untethered freak Wood shows up unprepared for the murder case, and the judge removes him.

You must be worried as hell. Wood is going to crush your prosecutors, and that scares the shit out of you.
Only worried for the kid, you snivelling sack of shit. He deserves a strong defense, not a flaming charlatan trying to get PR points for future speaking gigs.

Who is it then? Who is his murder trial specialist? Or were you too busy stroking yourself to his calls for the arrest of the GOP Senate candidates to notice? The one he had (John Pierce) was forced to quit by the prosecutors over his financial problems. I see Wood has some financial problems of his own, as he is being sued by his former partners. I guess that's westwall's version of "being respected by one's peers". The best thing that can happen to this kid is that untethered freak being tossed off his defense team.

Do you REALLY want Kyle to have a strong defense and get exonerated?

Or are you bullshitting, FFI?

You certainly sound like you want the boy to be literally crucified as an example to others who would defend themselves during Liberal Pogroms.

The boy only defended himself from a crazy child molester and other armed thugs.

Only communist lunatics believe he should be charged with a crime.

And a Grand Jury in Kenosha County.

He's going to have a fine future as an Aryan Nation Prison Bitch.
He’s not going to prison asshole. You idiot leftards here all seem to be supporting this young man getting raped while ignoring the fact that he defended himself from your band of deviants. Tells us all we need to know about how an asshole like you ought to be treated. Enjoy Rittenhouse’s acquittal.

Do you REALLY want Kyle to have a strong defense and get exonerated?
I want him to have a strong defense. I have trust in our justice system, and I think they will probably have more information in that courtroom than I have. I think he should probably be convicted of some sort of crime, to send a message that it is not okay to play vigilante. But I feel a bit bad for him, because he is a child. So a big part of me doesn't want this to ruin the rest of his life.

He wasn't in Kenosha to "play vigilante", but merely to guard property during the Liberal Rioting.

Most public defenders are there as a stepping stone to private practice. Prosecutors climb the judicial ranks, but defense lawyers get rich.

in reality it doesn't matter. Whatever the area of law the attorney is going to do the research. Laws change. The lawyer is going to look them up anyway. Trial lawyers are show men. They know the rules of evidence. There we go. Enough.
