The east and west of our polar vortex, the jet stream bends north and is taking warm subtropical air north. Most importantly, the temperature of the planet is not affected by this at all. And guess what causes the jet stream to get all twisty like that? A reduction in the temperature difference between the equator and the poles. And guess what causes that? GLOBAL WARMING.

There are two main reasons for this.
First a rise in sulphate aerosols was largely due to the increase in industrial activities.
And the other one is the data collection switched from being done by US ships, over to UK ships.
