For the last 2 years, Republicans have been trying to make the case that Hillary Clinton's ill advised use of her private email proves that she is unfit for the highest office in the land. Multiple investigations, and thousands of leaked emails have brought us to this point, where Hillary Clinton, though somewhat politically damaged, is still on the path to the Presidency. So, Why is this?

* Millions of Republicans around the nation, who think they know the finer points of case law in this matter, have not come to terms with the fact that Hillary Clinton's actions (though not very smart) didn't violate the law.

* Republicans have played the "email card" so many times in the last 2 years, most independent and swing voters now see this, not as an honest attempt at getting at the truth, but now as a tool for destroying Hillary Clinton politically, so a Republican can win back the White House. This has damaged the GOP's credibility, and turned a lot of people off about Hillary's emails.

* Donald Trump has run his campaign like the political version of the Jerry Springer show. Every time people start to focus on Hillary's emails, Trump says something crazy, that takes the focus off of them, and on to Trump's volatile nature.

So, much like the "birthers" trying to discredit President Obama a few years back. Republicans are left grasping at thin air.

Actually, it does matter to many Americans which is a major reason Hillary's trustworthiness is such a problem for her. I do agree that it does not matter to those who have little regard for this nation or for basic honesty.

We are a bunch of political junkies here, but most of the country is not.

It's still August for crying out loud, and many people are not even paying attention to the political arena. They are out golfing, on vacation, fishing, watching a movie now and then, swimming, doing yard work......

From time to time, they may catch a whiff of what's going on in politics, I call those people the headline voters: they read the headline of something and not the story, and then base their opinion on the headlines.

But summer is nearing it's end, and people will put the cover back on the pool, change the oil in the lawnmower, put away the fishing gear, and then dedicate more time to politics--especially the debates.

It is then they will catch up on everything we political junkies are abreast of today. They will learn about the email scandal and how Hillary got a free ride. They will understand that Trump's words never called for people to assassinate Hillary Clinton. They will learn that Khan attacked Trump first, and Trump only reacted to the attack.

When people learn the truth about what's been going on, their opinion will likely change.

So you think the country is unaware of all the silly investigations that found nothing? You hold on to that dream.

We are just now finding out how corrupt the Clintons are, thanks largely to a conservative watchdog group.

Clinton Foundation Rocked by Judicial Watch Investigation

Clinton Foundation Rocked by Judicial Watch Investigation
This week, those suspicions focused on the candidate's relationship to the organization her husband founded, which she joined following her tenure as secretary of state. Appointees to high office must avoid not just actual conflicts of interest but the appearance of conflict, and the since-renamed Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation's aggressive pursuit of donations from individuals and governments that might want special access to the State Department made it difficult, if not impossible, to avoid such conflicts.

Thanks to Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, we now have evidence that the Clintons may have crossed the line.

In a batch of emails newly released this week as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request, we see concrete proof that foundation staff sought access to top-level State Department officials on behalf of donors. In some cases, doors appeared to open for donors; in others, it is less clear.

But in several cases, the foundation sought help from two of Hillary Clinton's top, longtime aides: Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills. No quid pro quo is necessary to determine that such contact was highly inappropriate.

Hey doofus! If you listened to anything other than the voices in your head, you'd know that those emails have been coming back to haunt her and that there are more to come.

Here's another clue for you since you seem to be devoid of any: the problems she has now are coming from Wikileaks and not from the GOP.

Exactly.

The voters simply saw through the lies republicans contrived about Clinton, the inconsistencies of those lies and contrivances, and the fact there is no evidence of ‘wrongdoing’ on Clinton’s part – where republicans have indeed admitted there is no evidence of ‘wrongdoing.’

Why, because of all the lies told about her...

(according to her sycophants)

No, the email card doesn't work. They should have learned their lesson after wearing out Benghazi.

NaziCons have cried "wolf" so many times against the Clintons that when a real "wolf" shows up - most sane people don't give a shit. I don't give a shit. NaziCons owe the Clintons many "get out of jail free" cards.

You sure?

I keep seeing Hillary, and BIll, lying about what the FBI found.

Certainly not helping her trustworthiness.

Which wasn't all that great to begin with

You've never seen the pools where Americans overwhelmingly consider the hag untrustworthy, have you?

The investigation told us a lot about Hillary.

She's a perjurer. She lied under oath to the US Congress.
She has no problem looking into the eyes of Americans and lying to us.
She's careless with classified and sensitive material.
