This science-paranoia parable was inspired by Jurassic Park and Leviathan.

Dr. Otto Octavius had successfully designed a multiple mechanic tentacle system to attach to the human body (for U.S. soldiers who had lost limbs). This 'tentacle-system' or 'Metal-Octopus' (as he called it!) would enable these otherwise-handicapped soldiers to grab and lunge (with the metal tentacles) and hence become 'super-soldiers.' Octavius called this the 'miracle of military intelligence.' However, when an accident made the tentacles uncontrollable, the tentacles attached themselves to Octavius's body(!), making him a living abomination. Octavius went insane and changed his name to 'Dr. Octopus.'
Why had God punished Dr. Octopus? Put simply, Octavius' unnatural military-design for handicapped soldiers made war-designs seem more 'valuable' than medical ones. Mother Nature did not 'approve' of Octavius's design, so he was 'transformed' into a 'mad scientist.' Dr. Octopus (his new 'name') was now determined to hide in the caverns of the Grand Canyon where he would continue his mad experiments, designing 'toys' for rogue terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda. Was Dr. Octopus the Devil?
What Dr. Octopus did was give 'birth' to an abomination of the imagination itself, an abomination that was likened to the mythical dragon-beast of the abyss, the chaos-creature known as 'leviathan' but referred to colloquially by civilization simply as the 'dragon.' This dragon was a beast of envy and pride, and the reason it was now 'real' was that the human mind (specifically, Octavius' mind) engendered 'prolific' ideas about 'synthetic resilience.' Forget about the splendour of ferns and the variegation of finches, for Dr. Octopus' 'ugly dragon inception' made humanity a witness of misshapen intelligence!
GOD: The dragon is not real!
SATAN: You're wrong; 'leviathan' is very real...
GOD: That's why we have Jurassic Park movies and video-games.
SATAN: No, again; man's nature is to rape until he's 'satisfied.'
GOD: There's no reason to 'feed the subconscious.'
SATAN: What about virtual reality?
GOD: Synthetics may help doctors, but nature-manipulation will ruin Earth.
SATAN: You worry because 'leviathan' will poke its head out.
GOD: I worry because scientists are tempting fate.
SATAN: What about the poor fate of 'Dr. Octopus'?
GOD: Octavius can try to redeem himself by 're-learning' evolution!
SATAN: I will reach out to Dr. Octopus with my Jurassic Park videos...
GOD: Whatever; if YouTube heals the doctor's heart, see what you can do!
SATAN: Remember that the Human Genome Project was begun with trepidation.
GOD: Nature provides us with ample 'diversity.'
