Earline Davis was earning $26k answering the phones at the Obamacare hotline set up to bypass the Obamacare website that remains unfunctional.

So Sean Hannity, during his radio program, calls the hotline and by chance, gets Earline. He asks her a few questions. She was completely professional, courteous, and personable during the short exchange, but she made one fatal mistake. Sean asked her if anybody is liking the new system and she answered honestly, "Not really."

Shortly she was summarily fired and escorted from the building without being allowed to even retrieve her personal effects herself.

*****************************

Well Sean felt terrible about it when he heard about it. He has paid her a year's salary out of his own pocket, and has set up a jobs page on his website. Hundreds of people have now offered Earline jobs, have offered to donate money, gift cards, etc. and the response has been quite heart warming. As Sean said, nobody should be punished purely for talking to him and most especially when the person did so honestly and in a professional manner.

Here is the conversation itself:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kV05go7cge0]Obamacare's Victims Operator, Earline Davis, Fired For Talking Sean Hannity & Telling Truth - YouTube[/ame]

So what do you think? Was the Obama administration right to fire her? Would you have fired her?

The poor woman. She seemed incredibly nice. I guess when it comes to Obamacare the worst crime there is would be to tell the truth.

Yes. Even after being treated the way she was, she was not vindictively critical of her supervisors, not in the least bit angry or retalitory. I'm guessing she might be voting for more Republicans now though. :)

The other component that I didn't really write into the OP, but is included in the supporting material:

Obama has lied repeatedly to the American people and he got to keep his job.

Kathleen Sebelius has lied repeatedly to the American people, even to Congress in a hearing last week, and she is keeping her job.

Both have proved to be either intentionally dishonest and misleading - or - totally clueless, inept, and incompetent, but their jobs are secure.

Earline Davis was fired for doing her job in a professional manner and for telling the truth.

INb4 morons says:

"People that talk bad about their boss sould get fired."

This is NOT a private business. This is the PEOPLE's Government, we are THEIR BOSS not OBAMA. Earling and Obama are public servants.

The thing is she did NOT talk bad about her bosses. She didn't have a single criticism for anything. She didn't bad mouth a soul and didn't talk down anything. All she did was answer Sean honestly that the website was experiencing some glitches and they were working on it and, when he asked if anybody is liking the new system, she honestly answered 'not really.'

You're right though that we the people are going to have to stand up on our hind legs and demand that those working for us HEAR us when we speak. I honestly don't think they see themselves as in any way accountable to we the people but rather see us as their subjects who will conform to their will or else.

In case you haven't noticed, the Chicago Democratic Political Machine is running the country.

The TRUTH is a hateful thing to the Chicago Democratic Political Machine.

Erline is lucky she didn't wind up in a river wearing cement boots.

There are a lot of Benghazi eye-witnesses waiting to tell the truth, too. And they will eventually--but right now---they are worried about those cement boots.

For sure if history is reliable to repeat itself, if Earline does gain national attention and becomes a poster girl as an example of government dishonesty, overreach, and opaqueness, she will likely find herself under surveillance, will have her e-mail and telephone calls monitored, and could be the subject of an unusual IRS audit. It has happened to so many others who were in any way a 'difficulty' for this Administration.

I'm sure the Obama loyalists and probably the administration is already searching for any dirt they can find on her to use if this story starts gaining traction. Or they'll make it up, leak it to the sympathetic leftwing press, and begin the deliberate process of discrediting her, demonizing her, marginalizing her, making her the butt of jokes, ridicule, and/or contempt.

Every government employee, every active duty member of our armed forces, and most private sector employees, are taught that if a member of the media approaches them, they are to refer the media to the public relations department and are not to talk to the media.

It appears Ms. Davis forgot this simple rule.

She wasn't working for the federal government, she was working for a private contractor hired by the federal government. She was fired by her private contractor boss for breaking the rules and talking to the press.

I know how you guys need to frame the debate as if this woman is being persecuted by the government, but use some common sense.

Don't confuse G5000 with reality... he lives in an alternate dimension from reality and the truth. His mantra is essentially, "I'm the smartest person here" and then he spews utter horseshit.

Wow! That sounds a bit crazy for you Foxfyre!!!! It's amazing how quickly people create conspiracy theories lately and just freely accept them as being true or even plausible....

She signed a contract upon hire not to speak to the media and broke her contract, simple as that....

I am more than certain Obama didn't call and tell her bosses to fire her as you all seem to imply.....she was fired for breaking her contract/agreement, as I would have been fired from a number of jobs that I have held for speaking to the media regarding the corporations I worked for because I too was not allowed to do such, per agreement contract upon hire.

The whole thing is sad, and I wish it had not been the case that she agreed to speak to the media, when she was under contract NOT to speak to them and sad that Shaun brought her in to this mess.

I am glad to see he is at least trying to help her find another job.

You can't have this woman break her contract agreement for employment and expect her not to be fired for it, or every single worker who also signed the same contract not to speak to the media will think that they too can just break their contract....sooo, as a business person, what she did was wrong and what they did, as in letting her go for it, was the ONLY CHOICE they had to make.

I would feel uncomfortable leaving this woman in her job, because if she broke one confidentiality agreement, then who is to say she would not break another one, such as giving private information about those applying to someone else as well...

As far as politicians lying or not meeting their promises, politicians DO NOT SIGN agreements with the citizens to not lie or not to talk with the media, etc etc etc....it's too bad we can't make them sign such a thing, but then politics would not be the politics as I have known it to be my entire life.....sadly, it would be foreign to me, if all the lying and promises by politicians didn't take place.

I will just ask anybody to show ANY evidence that the contractor or the federal government ordered anybody to not talk to the press. Ms. Davis said she received no such instruction in her training. She had been on the job five weeks. So come on folks. Show me the clause in the personnel policy where that instruction was given. Or call Davis a liar just because you want her to be one.

By the way, I've not added up the different jobs I've held over my lifetime, but because of transitions in Highschool and College and because I married a guy who got transferred a lot, and because we have often held multiple jobs between us, the number would certainly be in the dozens. And in not a single one, including a brief position with the State of New Mexico, AND working as a contractor for the federal government, I have NEVER been instructed not to speak with the media.

use some common sense.

Not possible from those on the radical right. They just parrot whatever their propaganda masters tell them without question, just like we are seeing in this thread,..

Quite pathetic, but that's what today's GOP supporters have become.

Come on, man. Firing this lady is like kicking a teddy bear. Was what she did really that bad?

Care, I would refer you to my "Phony Scandals?" thread. I would challenge you, though, to point to any statement I have EVER made anywhere that suggests that Obama personally ordered her to be fired. I would also challenge you to find any statement Obama has made about it since it hit the media circuit when he is quick to comment if the media suggests a 'conservative' has mistreated somebody or said something inappropriate. Why isn't he on television saying that the call center acted 'stupidly' firing this woman?

Again the woman said she was never instructed not to talk to anybody. Given her high degree of professionalism in that telephone call, I am pretty sure if such instruction had been given, she would not have agreed to be on the radio with Sean. And she said absolutely nothing wrong.

She publicly embarrassed her employer on a national stage. Why is that hard to understand?
