Senator Warren’s darling and brain child.

Nothing like giving unelected bureaucrats massive power that is unchecked by the citizens' duly elected lawmakers:

White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney said Thursday that the authority wielded by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) chief “should frighten people” days after he assumed the role of acting director. Mulvaney, who also serves as the director of Office of Management and Budget, said on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the structure of the CFPB is “fundamentally flawed” and that his directive as its administrator would be to “limit” the agency’s effect on capitalism. The structure of the CFPB is just fundamentally flawed. Authority that I have now as the acting director really should frighten people,” Mulvaney said. You can sit down in a room with three or four people, and say, well, let’s go off and do this, and there is no accountability to Congress. I could set the budget pretty much without any input from Congress, in fact, without any input from Congress,” he added. And the Democrats who designed this intentionally made it so.

Republicans controlling the CFPB is frightening. The CFPB enforces many of the consumer protection laws. Republicans are 100% in the pocket of big business. We look at what is happening with net neutrality in a industry that is a near monopoly, that financial advisors should not have a fiduciary duty to their clients, airlines should not be required to make fees public for a starter. Mulvaney and the Republicans are just as bad as the previous director and Democrats. We need someone that can look at both sides with no prejudice. That was not the previous director nor is that Mulvaney.

The Federal Government needs to "shrink" to the size it was in the 1990s, perhaps even smaller.

It is too big, too corrupt, and we are going bankrupt because of it.

It was scary when it was ran by a bureaucrat, it is even scarier when it is ran by someone who is beholden to the very people this agency is supposed to be standing up to.
