The price of normalizing relations between the United States and Cuba should have been the release of all political prisoners and a scheduling of free and open elections.

But now it's done, and future Presidents won't have leverage to force these reforms.

In other words, it was a one way bargain, with the United States giving all, and Cuba giving nothing in return.

Obama sucks at negotiations, or he is a Communist who wants Cuba to remain a dictatorship.

Didn't you see the press conference with Raul today.. The wise ole 'commie TAUNTED the Prez to NAME the "political prisoners" and they would be released.. He said EXACTLY THAT..

Evidently "political prisoner" is a legal term of art in Cuba that the "constitutional scholar" Obama doesn't understand. Because he SHOULD have had a list right in his coat pocket to pull out on that occasion.. Think he missed the opportunity -- or Raul is bluffing. You decide...

Nixon was a geopolitical genius.

He negotiated detente to draw the Soviet Union closer to the United States.

He negotiated the opening of China to draw the Chinese closer to the United States.

Obama doesn't have that kind of genius. He gives and gives, but gets nothing in return.

President Obama is doing exactly what President Nixon did.

And just like you, losers whined about when Nixon went to China also.

China is every bit as repressive as Cuba is- they just repress a billion people. We are fine with doing business- and conducting official business with China- because Nixon made the bold move of going to China.

President Obama made the bold move- the Nixonian move to end the stupidity with Cuba- which only harms the Cuban people- and American business.
