Furthermore,

We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms. Miller said, as we have explained, that the sorts of weapons protected were those “in common use at the time.” 307 U. S., at 179.
was overruled by Caetano v. Massachusetts 577 U.S. ____ (holding that "arms" in the 2nd Amendment extends to all instruments that are bearable, including arms not in existence when the founders wrote the amendment).

in addition:
We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of “dangerous and unusual weapons.”
Dangerous AND unusual. A S.A.W. is dangerous but not unusual, so fuck your shitty interpretation. He didn't mean full-auto rifles.

What possibly could be said to justify the ownership of weapons of war by private citizens?
Because, fuck you. That's why.

Can a machine gun be used for hunting?
Irrelevant and wrongly assumes the right is tied to food collection.

As they as designed exclusively to kill as many humans as quickly as possible, why in earth should anyone have the ability to buy one?
Because the enemy of liberty (government) has millions of them. We have to keep government in check. We get what they have, or fuck your standing army.

The right of the people to have motherfucking machine guns, shall not be infringed.

We must get back to the true meaning of infringement:

in·fringe
inˈfrinj/
verb
  1. actively break the terms of (a law, agreement, etc.).
"making an unauthorized copy would infringe copyright"
synonyms: contravene, violate, transgress, break, breach; More
    • act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on.
"his legal rights were being infringed"
      synonyms: restrict, limit, curb, check, encroach on;
Doesnt say anything about machine guns. and it also says its contingent on having a well regulated militia like the national guard. Sorry
Total bullshit as usual. "A well regulated militia" has nothing to do with the national guard.

Who told you that?

Militia (United States) - Wikipedia

Today, as defined by the Militia Act of 1903, the term "militia" is primarily used to describe two groups within the United States:

  • Organized militia – consisting of State militia forces; notably, the National Guard and Naval Militia.[9] (Note: the National Guard is not to be confused with the National Guard of the United States.)
  • Unorganized militia – composing the Reserve Militia: every able-bodied man of at least 17 and under 45 years of age, not a member of the National Guard or Naval Militia.[10]

It didnt have to. See the definition of regulated militia I posted above.

I voted "No". Firearms not available before December 15, 1791 (ratification of the Bill of Rights) are not automatically grandfathered into the 2nd amendment given my view that the Constitution is not a "living" document.

Irrelevant. The only definition that matters is that of the writers of the original document.

I don't believe it is a living document either, but you are the one torturing the interpretation of the Amendment to mean only those arms in existence at the time. It says nothing about arms being limited to those already in existence. The "living document" interpretation dictates such a limitation, not the other way around.

Again:

Caetano v. Massachusetts 577 U.S. ____ (holding that "arms" in the 2nd Amendment extends to all instruments that are bearable, including arms not in existence when the founders wrote the amendment).

That only makes sense if they didnt leave provisions in the document to make changes to it.

Shall not be in fringed... Any change that violates this phrase is illegal, null, and void. It only holds up under threat of violence.
