The Rise of Trump means the Conservative Movement failed to fulfill its promises.

Because the American people turned to us to stop Obama, the left, and the establishment in 2010 and again in 2014, and we failed them.

Many conservatives got elected and cozied right up to the establishment Republican Party Congressional leaders. They took committee placements, favors, pork for their districts, and were quickly bought off.

Only Ted Cruz stood against them, when he stopped the government in its tracks to save our nation from the abortion that is Obamacare. But he stood alone, other conservatives in Congress, afraid of the Republican leadership, let him twist in the wind alone. And now John Boehner calls Ted Cruz "Lucifer" and where is the outrage? Where are the conservatives coming forth to denounce John Boehner? No one would ever say such a thing about a Democrat, not Obama, not even Hillary Clinton. But it's ok for a Republican to call Ted Cruz "Lucifer" and no one goes to his aid.

It's disgusting, and this is the reason why Trump is crushing the Republican Party establishment and taking over the Party. He will bring in his people, and there will be a merciless purge of all the establishment folks who have kow-towed to Obama and not lifted a finger to stop him while he abuses executive orders, floods the nation with millions of illegal aliens, terrorists, and violent criminals, and bullies on corporations and states that dare take a stand against the radical LBGT and pro-abort agenda.

I do not know if Trump will be a good President, I suspect he will not, because usually a revolution brings someone to power who is even worse than who was in power before. But don't mistake this, the Rise of Trump is the closest thing this nation has ever had to a revolution since the Civil War ended in 1865.

The proverbial blood will be on the floor of the Republican convention as Trump remakes the party in his own image. I understand that many principled conservatives will be victims of that purge, and I respect them for keeping their principles. BUT CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS, THIS IS YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT. YOU PROMISED TO SAVE US IN 2010 AND 2014 AND YOU FAILED, YOU DID NOT EVEN TRY.

Only Ted Cruz tried, and his reward is he is one of the most unpopular men in the Republican Party. He will go down in history as one of our greatest United States Senators, but men of principle who refuse to compromise to the power never become President.

"The Rise of Trump means the Conservative Movement has failed to fulfill its promises"

No, the rise of Trump is the consequence of a GOP in disarray, and the Faustian bargain republicans made with the social right, reactionary libertarians, and TPM nitwits.

The conservative ‘movement’ failed for many of the same reasons: reactionaryism, fear of change, fear of diversity, fear of dissent, and fear of expressions of individual liberty.

Thoughtful conservatives were replaced with social right extremists and culture warriors who contrived and propagated ridiculous lies about ‘the left,’ declared war on minorities and those perceived to be ‘different,’ and sought to deny citizens their Constitutional rights – such as the privacy rights of women and the equal protection rights of gay Americans.

And as conservatives pursued their agenda of fear and hate, the American Nation became more diverse, more inclusive, and more accepting of expressions of individual liberty.

Indeed, the conservative ‘movement’ failed because much of its agenda was in conflict with fundamental American principles: that the rights of citizens are paramount, that government may not disadvantage classes of persons for no other reason than who they are, and that citizens are subject solely to the rule of law, not men – as men are incapable of ruling justly, a fact proven by the errant, wrongheaded agenda of the conservative ‘movement.’

The only revolutionary thing Trump will do is continue to put journalists in their place.

Exactly correct. Trump is not the cause of the GOP's possible downfall, he is a symptom of the disease that is killing it.

The disease is progressive Republican RINOs who ignore the voters as soon as the election is over.

I give Cruz credit for standing up to the establishment but the Senate is as far as he could go (as far as being elected). If he supports Trump, he may end up with a position in his administration.

So, you're finally going to get the emperor that Obama failed to be despite all the dire warnings from The Right.
Irony much?

Yes, Trump will be an Emperor, now that Obama has set the precedent, Trump will eagerly abuse executive orders, bully corporations and the states, and otherwise act like an American version of Vladmir Putin.

And he may even use that shiny new law Congress passed saying the military can indefinitely detain American citizens:

Congress reaffirms indefinite detention of Americans under NDAA

Finish the sentence. If these citizens are affiliated with AL Quaeda or other terrorist organizations. We have nurtured and encouraged hatred of this country to this point.

For the past eight years Conservatives have been railing against what they perceive as a "cult of personality" surrounding Barack Obama. Those same Conservatives have been wringing their hands over the coarsening of the culture and their want to have honest, reliable and steadfast personalities in the White House.

And today, those same Conservatives are pledging their troth to Donald Trump who is NOTHING but personality, the standard bearer of toxic reality TV sludge and the most mercurial person in memory on the issues.

Was all that cult of personality/culture warrior/rock ribbed Conservatism stuff just a fraud? Has the bitterness and anger of the contemporary Conservative movement been the womb that produced the polar opposite of the qualities in a nominee they so desperately wanted all these years later?

And what exactly did conservatism ‘promise.’

More reactionaryism.

More fear of change.

More efforts to divide Americans.

More contempt for the Constitution and its case law.

More contempt for the rights of citizens.

More intrusive government at the expense of individual liberty.

The conservative ‘movement’ failed because it sought to return to an idealized American past that never actually existed to begin with, and the conservative ‘movement’ failed because the American people rejected its backward looking and backward thinking paradigm.

That the conservative ‘movement’ failed should come as a surprise to no one, as history is replete with examples of reactionary conservatives fearful of change attempting to stop that change and likewise failing.

Trump represents the contempt for the First Amendment common to many on the right – he should indeed be the GOP nominee.
No one on the right dislikes the 1st amendment. It is YOUR party trying to silence "deniers". It is YOUR kids who are installing "safe spaces" all over college campuses.

Trump is merely the result of the hypocrisy and treason on the modern faux left wing.

More reactionary nonsense against Trump...

The Republican party sucks, the Democrats will prefer people to not see a difference between the Republican party and Conservatives.

The Democrat party is extremist, anarchist, marxism, a very easy statement to state and with the Democrats rioting and destroying public party it is very easy to convince the entire nation that Democrats are Marxist who fight and kill for an ideology.

But, are Democrats all the same, is it the few in power today, or many in power today who are taking over the Democrat party?

Stereotyping is bad, it makes you respond as a bigot. Most the American people who call themselves Democrats are naive, they do not know that the Democrat party today is simply Marxist.

This comes down to a modern day battle of people who live for Freedom and Liberty against those who prefer Power and Marxism on one side, and those who Prefer Power and Money on the other.

Maybe those who still live for Liberty will come together, maybe not until the Politicians of both parties destroy what the baby boomers and those before have built.

Republicans and Democrats, working together, for different reasons, accomplishing the same thing, the destruction of Liberty.
