Unemployment is current 3.5%, well below the national average. Property values are the fastest rising in the country. It is the 9th fastest growing metropolitan area in the country and the county is the 4th fastest growing metro county. Seattle gains 1100 new residents a week.

However, Seattle is not like the rest of the country. Wages have always been higher than most other cities and only 17% of the workers were effected by the $15 minimum wage.
