The Trump "So What" Defense.

So what? Does that mean any future president can also do the same? Just imagine if President Obama had done what Trump* has done.

done what? try to illegally alter the outcome of an election? Dont forget when Obama learned that the Russians were tampering before 2016, Hillary was sent an FBI agent to warn and advise her..... Trump was sent an FBI agent to spy on him. The rest is history.... but who was it that gave the order? in Obama's own words, "YES WE CAN" imagine.

The GAO has also said that Trump* has broken the law.

The GAO just said Trump broke the law

It's an opinion.

Let me know when they perp-walk Trump.

You are full of shit.

You belong to the party of losers.

Keep your head in Racheal Maddow's gay ass. I am sure she likes it.

The "So What" defense may work in the Republican Senate - but I doubt it will work in the 2020 election.

Van Jones is discouraged that the left can't produce a candidate that does not look like the turd of the year.

He knows, like everyone else that Trump is the man in 2020.

You lost in 2016.

Suck on it.

You'll lose in 2020.

And you can suck on it harder.

You predictions are always wrong. You predicted a Clinton landslide fer crissakes.

The American people are absolutely outraged at Biden's corruption. And so are the Ukrainian people. It was a huge scandal in the Ukraine too.

Imagine the outrage in the US if, at the behest of a foreign power, our Attorney General was fired and replaced by somebody who did prison time for corruption, had never practiced law and didn't even go to law school.

That's going to take Joe out. He should be working to clean it up....because with Lizzy and Bernie sinking together....he might be the nominee.

And this will cream him.

Proof?

He did do exactly that. Joe Biden brags about his threat to withhold a billion dollars in aid if they didn’t do his bidding. It’s not illegal for a President to do so on its own. Joe was doing it to hide his family’s corruption. President Trump was merely asking to look into that corruption on the Ukrainian side. Not illegal, and should actually be encouraged.

They also said the Hussein broke the law 8 times. So should your beloved Hussein be charged?

I've heard several Trump supporters say that even if everything Trump has been accused of is true - it's not impeachable. Is that a reasonable defense? What do you think?

It has long been obvious that Republicans would ultimately converge on this final defense of President Trump: Even if he did everything he has been accused of doing, and perhaps a lot more that we don’t know about, it’s absolutely fine!

We now have a particularly ugly preview of what this defense may look like, as Trump’s Senate trial gets underway. On Sean Hannity’s Thursday night show, former Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus said:

Sometimes the best defense is the ‘so what’ defense. If everything the Democrats said is true, it’s still not impeachable. If everything Lev Parnas said is true, it’s still not impeachable. That’s what this is about.

What’s truly perverse here is that if Trump did nothing wrong, then no one could speak to that more forcefully than the witnesses Democrats want to hear from, and who Trump and McConnell desperately do not. If withholding the aid was correct on the merits, why not hear from those directly involved in that decision?

The answer is that Trump and McConnell know Trump did engage in profoundly corrupt, impeachable conduct. Trump used the power of his office — and the conditioning of official acts, including withholding hundreds of millions in appropriated military aid from a vulnerable ally — to strong-arm that ally into manufacturing disinformation to corrupt the 2020 election on his behalf.

What they're saying is that Trump did nothing that countless Presidents before him haven't done. The withholding of aid to a country because you're concerned about corruption there ISN'T an impeachable offence! Asking that country to look into apparent collusion between a US political party and members of their government ISN'T an impeachable offence! You've built the "foundation" of your impeachment on the loose sand that these ARE impeachable offences and quite frankly you're mistaken. The GOP controlled Senate was never going to find Trump guilty of the crap that you've sent over to the Senate! That's been apparent all along. So why WAS it sent? Because Democratic leaders promised people like you, Lakhota...that they would impeach Trump! This farce is all for your benefit. Enjoy it...

Bullshit rhetoric like this becomes what dims then refer to as facts. And think they can get away with it. Good luck with whatever geriatric they put up against him.

I would go with the "I've done nothing that countless Presidents before me have done as well...so bite me!" defense! :)

Credible proof?
That countless Presidents have done things with policy to hurt their political opponents and help themselves? I'm a history major...did you want me to start citing examples of where that was done? I don't think it's worth my time quite frankly, Lakhota because when I do you're going to ignore them just as you've already ignored them.

Just provide credible proof that even one former president did what Trump* has been impeached for.
