Zone1 The truth about slavery

The numbers of slaves grew because they were bred like animals (and sometimes raped by their white masters). But hey, we already knew that rape is cool with conservatives.

That's baseless mythology. In fact that is exactly the kinds of ante-bellum pro-slavery propaganda that was written in the 1850s in an attempt to convince white northerners that slavery wasn't worth a political or civil war.
Bull, white immigrants were disposable to employers. There were always more getting off the ships. Slaves were valuable property and cared for despite their much lower productivity than free workers. The growth of the slave population pretty much matched the growth curve of other Americans. If slaves didn’t want children, there were plenty of folk remedy abortificants available to female slaves. Historically, slaves have never avoided having children.

Motherfucker, you're talking to someone who had German immigrant ancestors who immigrated through the port of New Orleans. They ended up owning slaves. Not many, but a handful, and even those who did not became land owners and proprietors.

Don't try and give me a history lesson, dipshit. You're not qualified.

They became part of the problem, not the solution. If you want to compare ancestors, one of mine was the youngest son of The Spencer who came over on an indenture without a Penney to his name in the 1760s, another was an Irishman who came over during the ACW and another was a Swede who came over in the massive post-ACW immigration wave.

Every civilization had slavery and some still do, America was one of the first to abolish slavery, only 305,000 slaves were actually imported to America but over 12 million to other countries, slaves didn't build America, economies grew slower where slavery existed, and 4 million black people emigrated into America but were not slaves.

"A generation of Americans is being raised on half-truths and lies about the history of slavery in America. They are given the impression that America was uniquely bad and that American slavery was uniquely bad. They learn nothing about slavery elsewhere. Among the many lies they are told are that “black slaves built America” and that America is systemically racist.

Since the only mortal enemy of the Left is truth, here are some truths about slavery.

AMERICA’S SLAVERY COMPARED TO SLAVERY ELSEWHERE

If you are interested in morality and committed to truth, you do not ask, “Who had slaves?” You ask, “Who ended slavery?”

Slavery, the Left, and Truth

Candice gives a short lesson below,

The truth is if you could go back far enough, every one of us has ancestors that were both slaves & slavers.
Blacks weren't the only slaves in America either.
We had Chinese slaves, European slaves & even the Indians had their own slaves.

It's the past & that's where it belongs.
For those wanting reparations, go hang out on a street corner with a sign.
At least then they would be honest about begging for money from people that had nothing to do with slavery
The opposition to black reparations is based on sheer racist hatred. Precedents have been set as other groups who have been harmed by the government have received reparations. As for the tired worn out excuse of “why should I pay for something I did not do,” here is an example of reparations made in modern times for things done by past generations.

I am quite sure no one living in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government made the Fort Laramie treaty with the Sioux Nation or were participants in Custers violation of that treaty. Nor were they alive when President Grant decided it was OK to let settlers and people prospecting for gold tresspass into land promised to the Sioux thereby violating the treaty. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to take the land from the Sioux by military force. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to cut off supplies they promised the Sioux as condition for their surrender after whipping the U.S. Army at The Battle of Little Bighorn. But in 1980, the government of the United States decided reparations were due to the Sioux Nation for what was done to them in the 1800’s. They awarded the Sioux nation 105 million dollars..

Anyone understanding economics recognizes that you need to have revenues that meet or exceed expenses. Due to white racism, that has not been the case in America.

On October 24, 2013, the Kellogg Foundation and Altarum Institute sent out a press release about a report they had done titled, “The Business Case for Racial Equity.” This was a study done by both organizations, using information studied and assessed from the Center for American Progress, National Urban League Policy Institute, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

“Striving for racial equity – a world where race is no longer a factor in the distribution of opportunity – is a matter of social justice. But moving toward racial equity can generate significant economic returns as well. When people face barriers to achieving their full potential, the loss of talent, creativity, energy, and productivity is a burden not only for those disadvantaged, but for communities, businesses, governments, and the economy as a whole. Initial research on the magnitude of this burden in the United States (U.S.), as highlighted in this brief, reveals impacts in the trillions of dollars in lost earnings, avoidable public expenditures, and lost economic output.”

On September 3, 2019, Brentin Mock, wrote an article on the Bloomberg.com CityLab website titled, “White Americans’ Hold on Wealth Is Old, Deep, and Nearly Unshakeable” based on a study done by McKinsey and Company called “The economic impact of closing the racial wealth gap.” In this study, McKinsey and Company predicted a bleak future if current race based wealth inequality continues.

“It will end up costing the U.S. economy as much as $1 trillion between now and 2028 for the nation to maintain its longstanding black-white racial wealth gap, according to a report released this month from the global consultancy firm McKinsey & Company. That will be roughly 4 percent of the United States GDP in 2028—just the conservative view, assuming that the wealth growth rates of African Americans will outpace white wealth growth at its current clip of 3 percent to .8 percent annually, said McKinsey. If the gap widens, however, with white wealth growing at a faster rate than black wealth instead, it could end up costing the U.S. $1.5 trillion or 6 percent of GDP according to the firm.”

As we look at the numbers, we see what has caused our economic problem, and it’s not government spending. The numbers show us that many of our national difficulties do not have to exist. Study after study shows that racism is costing America trillions of dollars. We hear all the rhetoric about debts and deficits by our elected officials. The federal government has basically spent more than what it’s taken in for most of the past fifty years. While we have been continually told over time that our deficit comes from entitlements or programs subsidizing people who don’t want to work, multiple studies show that the damage is self-inflicted. If the deficit is a matter of spending vs. revenue, the fact that racism exists in this country robs the government of the income necessary to stay away from deficits and debt. America has a debt of over thirty trillion dollars. Our debt is due to lost taxable income denied because of racism.

The number of slaves grew because, unlike other counties, slaves were treated well enough that they weren't killed off in large numbers so their numbers grew just the free whites numbers grew. I'm not saying slaves were treated well, but they were actually treated better than the immigrants working in northern factories who were easily replaced.
BS.

Your post is the lie. Every civilization has had terrorism and crime too. But nobody makes excuses like that when it comes to those issues. This is just another sorry thread trying to dismiss white racism.
