Zone1 The Uber files show capitalism at its worse

Capitalism doesnt need you to defend it.
Easier to just admit that there are bad people, motivated by greed, who need to be reined in.
That is a role of government because the corporations wont do it.

There are good and bad people in EVERY industry and every career. I'm not sure what point you're making

Well you cite the Post Office as a "Corporation" but I believe that they are publicly owned and not involved in bribing politicians in Europe.
They will be run on a public interest basis. Corporations have no such baggage to carry.
I think you make a straw man.

I'd say ouch, but I'm laughing too hard. You don't know shit about economics

Corporations are created by government. Government provides limited liability, which only they can do. There is nothing capitalist about for example the post office. Corporations can operate in different economic systems, depends how they are managed. Socialist corporations are controlled by government.

I worked on Wall Street and have an MBA in finance from a top five finance program. You have no experience or education. Since you are more interested in broadcasting your ignorance than learning, I am not interested in discussing this with you any more, you are a waste of time

Today's corporations are just the evolution of the medieval guilds, which were formed by the merchants. The limited liability aspect was added by the Govt to help corporations thrive, but they are not necessary to the concept.

So if one business guy is a crook we all are. Got it. Is that true with priests too? Do they all molest boys since some do? What do you do for a living? Is there one criminal who does what you do so everyone who does what you do is a criminal?

Yawn. I'm putting you on ignore since you know so little about this and yet you're so obnoxious about it. I'll take you off at some point when I notice

Just wanted to say I think it is so cute you bragged about having an MBA. I got accepted to an MBA program the same term I was accepted for my Masters. I had too choose which one I was going to do and with with the Masters so I would have an actual skill and not just be a better educated office manager.

But I am sure it works for you

I think that there is a lot more to come out of this and many of our leading politicians will be implicated.

But I dont suppose tht Uber is an outlier. There are other corporations who trample over local laws and use corrupt politicians in order to make more money.

Should corporations be limited in size ao that they are not a threat to the general welfare ?
Socialism is the greatest thing for under achievers and the democRat party. Walk into any government office and 90% of the people will be democRats. Capitalism allows any person, educated or not to make a living and to get in life what ever they want. All they have to do is work at it. Welfare fraud in California is wide spread. When I lived there I worked but it is a lot harder when all around you people get their rent payed, food, they even have an office you can go to pay your utilities. With all their bills paid at the first of the month they still get a big check that more times is drank, snorted or put up their arm. This is why the whole state has turned into one big shit hole and no place for someone working for a living wants nothing to do with. Capitalism is great if you want to make it through life and have all the toys you want. Paying your way in life will also make you take better care of those toys and everything you get in life. This is why I feel sorry for people trying to make it in life in property. People who have never worked in their life or paid for anything will not take care of it. Rental property, even new will be trashed, break a handle just get a set of vise grips. If your rent is two months over due why mow the the lawn, it's dead any way. If you are a worthless shit then Socialism is for you. It works for democRats.

Our water companies used to be publicly owned. they were sold off by thatcher and are now owned mainly by overseas utility companies.
They are pretty much allowed to do what they want and what they want is to make more money.
This is a report into their performance which is awful. Theyr bosses are being threatened with prison unless they improve. They will not improve until that becomes a reality.
As a customer I have no choice in my water company. They have a monopoly. In the "free market" capitalism they should be allowed to do what they see fit.
Government should protect us from this.

Experience shows us that we lose out when industries are unregulated. That much is not controversial. The cruel mill owner did not evolve from fantasy.

When leftists are pushed, you suddenly become libertarians. The roads are socialism! No, they're not, that's stupid. LOL. Except you're not.

Define "regulated." Government has no legitimate authority to direct the future actions of lawful companies. Even if they have the Constitutional authority, they must provide due process. Government just needs to provide criminal and civil courts to correct wrongs. You use the word "unregulated" in the most vague possible way meaning anything like my libertarian view of regulation to Marxism. Define it, the way you used it here is meaningless since it could mean anything

The point is that lawful companies will not act in the public interest unless they are compelled. That isnt a complex issue.
Unless you can get your head around that there is not any common ground for a conversation.

That's just stupid

Government does a great job making your decisions for you, huh?

That's not socialism, that's a caricature of socialism fed to you by your capitalist masters. You also have a skewed notion of what a government can be and do.

That is what everyone on earth calls socialism, including socialists. If you want to say some theoretical bull shit no one has remotely done is socialism, it's completely irrelevant, whatever

Everyone on earth, including socialists, only in your delusional, ignorant mind. Socialism is the future, you might as well come to terms with it now and accept it.

No Wage Labor (or not enough of it) = No paying consumers (or not enough of them) = No Market (or too small of a market) = No Capitalism = The socialization and democratization of production (we no longer produce for the sake of profits but to meet our needs) = Socialism.

“[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself and are utilized in a planned fashion.” ― Albert Einstein, Why Socialism?
“Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights.” ― Albert Einstein, Why Socialism?

Note you don't actually name any country that follows your socialist utopian philosophy. Go ahead, name them
