US Set to Launch 'Iraq, The Sequel', in Syria

By Daniel McAdams

If you liked the run up to the US attack on Iraq, with the lurid fictional tales o fmobile chemical weapons labs and Saddam’s nukes, you will love “Iraq, The Sequel”, currently unfolding in Syria. It is everything the interventionists have been hoping for: a heady brew of Kosovo, Iraq, and Libya all rolled into one. The possibility for an infinitely more toxic conflagration is exponentially higher, to boot, adding for the interventionists much excitement to the mix.

Here is the latest:

A fourth US warship capable of launching the type of cruise missiles that turned Libya to rubble and paved the way for al-Qaeda affiliates to take control of that country is now rushing to the waters off of Syria, ready to unleash destruction. Chuck Hagel, who some antiwar commentators foolishly believed would put an end to Washington’s military adventurism, is feverishly preparing plans for President Obama to attack. The media worldwide, interventionist to the core, is pushing willing leaders in the US, France, and the UK to finally treat Syria to another devastating “liberation.”

.

Syria has been part of the destabilization of the region for many years, they need to go.

That way another bunch of fellows can do the same.

I hope someone in the administration comes to their senses so that this doesn't end up blowing up in our faces too

"Somehow we are supposed to believe that within 72 hours after the arrival of a UN chemical weapons inspection team to assess — with the Syrian government’s cooperation — the sites of previous claimed chemical weapons attacks, that same Syrian government would launch a chemical weapon attack on civilians just miles from where the UN inspectors are staying. The UN inspectors were there on invitation from the Syrian government and that same government would launch chemicals right into their neighborhood.

Unless Assad is indeed suicidally insane, which he has given no indication of being heretofore, it quite simply makes no sense. Why risk the overt wrath of the entire rest of the world — alienating even your final allies in Iran and Russia — for so measly a gain: killing 300 civilians in a war to the death against US/Saudi/Turk supported jihadists? There is no military justification and no justification at all short of the Assad clan being a Middle Eastern form of the Manson Family. Is that the argument?"

.

Israel has decided that Assad needs to go.

So it has instructed the U.S. government to attack Syria.

Then after the fall of the Syrian government.

Israel will have clear air space to bomb Iran.

Which is the ultimate end game of this whole conflict. ..

An Administration full of jingoism addicts come to their senses? These are the geniuses that danced around the room for "Arab Spring" apparently oblivious to the fact that it was all a precursor to the regional instability that Islamic extremists had hoped to create in the Middle East. In each case they've reacted in exactly the way that an enemy carrying out an asymmetrical grand campaign against them would hope for, and in each case they've come out of it with a puzzled look on their faces and mouths full of excuses.

I think it's a pretty safe bet they'll do exactly the wrong thing and then wonder "Well gee how'd that happen?" if/when the Assad regime falls and is replaced by an even more barbaric regime. All that we'll have accomplished is spending yet more blood & treasure to murder thousands of innocent Syrians as well as advancing the objectives that AQ set out to achieve.

Bingo.

"This doctrine was prefigured in a 1996 paper prepared for then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by a working group consisting of several individuals who are now in top spots in the Bush administration. "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm" recommended that Israel set itself free from its embarrassing and debilitating dependence on U.S. military and diplomatic support: no matter how unconditional, this support constrained Israel and prevented it from pursuing its true interests. The paper, co-authored by Richard Perle, James Colbert, Charles Fairbanks, Jr., Douglas Feith, Robert Loewenberg, David Wurmser, and Meyrav Wurmser, portrayed Syria as the main enemy of Israel, but maintained the road to Damascus had to first pass through Baghdad:

"Israel can shape its strategic environment, in cooperation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing, and even rolling back Syria. This effort can focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq – an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right – as a means of foiling Syria's regional ambitions. Jordan has challenged Syria's regional ambitions recently by suggesting the restoration of the Hashemites in Iraq."

.

An attack is coming

I doubt if we will see US boots on the ground

Saudis offer Russia secret oil deal if it drops Syria

Saudi Arabia has secretly offered Russian a sweeping deal to control the global oil market and safeguard Russia’s gas contracts, if the Kremlin backs away from the Assad regime in Syria. "

.

Russia will not give up their Navy Base in Tarsus.

Will Putin stop obama from helping terrorists take Syria over?

The Mossad has done a great job demonizing Bashar al-Assad.

The propaganda blames him for gassing his people and the world community is swallowing the bullshit.

.

They are as sure of Assad's use of WMD as they were that Saddam had them. We've heard all this crap before. We've learned nothing.

I can't believe Obama is going to repeat the mistake of starting a war over WMD.

He's losing my support fast.

Iraq was entirely different. Please stop now.

I can hit them on Syria true but with truth damn it.

It's a war on a middle east country over dubious "evidence" of WMD. That similarity is undeniable, and enough to keep us out.
