How about #4 - The people involved were doing EXACTLY the jobs they should have done, and if anything, treated Trump and his cronies with kid gloves.

The problem is, the IG report found that given the evidence available, there was evidence of Russian interference and collusion by some people on the Trump Team. They can trot out the convictions of Flynn, Manafort, Stone, etc. as evidence they were doing their jobs.
