This Is a Real Reason Why Middle-Class Incomes Remain Stagnant

the problem with the people who are democrats. they believe we are here to make their lives for them. they don't care what it does to a business or us

back in the day you couldn't make enough to support yourselves or the kids you plop out. the fathers usually got a second job. now today the fathers are demanding a business raise all their prices on the good they are selling so they pay their sorry asses to work for them.

Something wrong with this Society. no honor or pride

Democrats support the working class. Republicans support the rich and wealthy.

Democrats support tax and spend. Republicans support lower taxes and spending.
Yeah and the latter is what drives up the debt lol.

No, you don't have debt because you take in less money. You have debt when you spend more money than you take in. Spending is the problem in this country.
Yeah and so are tax cuts. What do you think happens to the debt when we cut taxes?

Which is only to provide a different way of payment.

Who give the customer their order? The laid-off cashiers?

Eventually, yes. Instead of having 14 employees at a store, they may reduce that to 4 or 5 people. It's not just McDonald's, it's everybody. Been going on for at least a decade or more. Machines are becoming cheaper to buy and wages with benefits for real people continue to increase. Eventually your Big Mac will be made on an assembly line of mini robots.
That article is from 2011, and NOTHING HAPPENED. lol

Or taxes on the rich and giant corps are too low, and the nonrich have gone to hell, fact free dupe.
Notice anything happening under Reaganism?:
The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.

That doesn't mean the workers are working harder. What it means is that industry has turned to automation to produce more with less workers.

Reagan became President during the height of the union days. Since that time, unions have chased all of our jobs overseas. So of course wages didn't keep up with the 70's. They had to decrease or move more jobs overseas. It had nothing to do with Reagan.

Why, because it didn't hit you people out in the woods yet? LOL! It's happening whether you want to believe it or not. In fact, we lost more jobs to automation than we have to outsourcing.

Look at #3, 4, and 5. Middle class going to hell. Jeebus get past the first 5 words.

The reason? Obama.
- Documented. The Middle Class has stwadily shrunk under Obama.

It's 'elementary', common sense -
Millions of illegals, rgugees, more Americans on Welfare, Medicare, Food Stamps, etc with rhe Middle Class having to survive while firting the bill for all of it. Ibama os not taking the fiot off the gas, either....millions more piked onto the shoulders of the already-buedened Middle Class, that is getting smaller.

As they say, Socialism is awesome until they run out of other people's money.

Welcome to 'fundamental change'!

The effects of the 2007-2008 Republican, BushCo, corporate America economic crash (the worst in history) has played a majority factor in what you try to blame Obama.

And you think that doesn't add purchase cost to the vehicle?

The Cascadia is the truck I currently drive, and I can tell you it doesn't get the milage that's claimed in your piece. That milage is strictly highway and doesn't consider city trucks which gets much less. I drive city and highway and average about 6 MPG.

Breaking News! Mileage estimates aren't actual! Is your Cascadia automatic or manual?

The country has been failing for decades, dumbass
Career politicians with their socialist entitlement programs have ruined this country, the game has been over for decades now.

You're like a child with your delusion and worship of the federal government. Now go hide in your moms basement

Baby boomers retiring...are they lazy freeloaders too?

My former Father-in-law, a baby boomer + at 84 boasts that he's taken much more than he paid into social security and that the middle class of today can fuck themselves. He's all fuck the Democrats, Obama, and the Unions. Of course half of his retirement comes from a Union retirement. He's a true Darwin award winner.

How would you be able to increase wages and decrease the cost of a product? If I'm losing money selling my widgets at a 50 cent loss, so are my suppliers that used to provide me with the material to make those widgets.

Because my plan max's employee costs and taxes/fees to 30% of total revenue, a reduction of 50% on average.

No, a new truck today costs 10% more than trucks did seven or eight years ago. This is information my employer got from all the salesmen. Plus these trucks breakdown all the time because of all the pollution gadgets in them. As the head mechanic told me at Freightliner, they don't have one computer any longer. Trucks have two to three computers that have to work in sync with each other because of the pollution nonsense. Here up north, we usually don't get winters this mild. Our freezing temperatures play hell on those computers and they are constantly causing problems.

Yes, lower fuel prices are a huge plus, but that was not the case just a few years ago. Everybody was charging fuel surcharges because it was the only way to stay in business.

But only 2% is contributable to environmental devices. Trucks break? They've been doing it forever, but to blame it on computers is somewhat deceptive. Most breakdowns are due do to wiring issues.

Liberals are suppose to be so intelligent. how is it they don't know what will happen to JOBS you force a business to pay a higher wage. first thing to go is WORKERS. the next thing is to raise their prices, and this is the worst of them. it closes down the mom and pop shops out there because they can't compete with the Big Corps

all this because they believe the world, businesses and other people in the country owes them a comfortable life
