This is Law and Order?

but this is an over-broad bill that grants no basic legal rights whatsoever and also allows DOJ to label any group a "gang." I sure don't want MS-13 here, but this bill seems more worthy of a dictatorship than the U.S.

But isn't that always the way of Congress? They dick around until the last hour, then rush through a bill that turns out to have gaping holes all over. Either the bill is way under-effective and allows massive loopholes undercutting its effectiveness or it acts like a medieval dragnet that gathers up three time the people intended, many not even part of the problem they were addressing? There is absolutely no finesse, no nuance, no grace or cleverness to the clods who write our laws. Considering that it is all they do, you'd think that eventually they would get good at it. And when the flaws are pointed out to them, they are hardly sympathetic or concerned, because after all, none of the laws ever apply to them.

And if gang membership is a crime, what are we going to do with all the gang members in our cities who are Americans?

Well, don't Americans have rights? If they stop doing so we are all in deep trouble. But if gangs are the issue, I submit we need to look at ALL of the gangs------ isn't Congress a gang? The Senate? Isn't the Bar Association and the AMA? What about that Gang of Eight?
