I believe you are correct, what with 70% of the people believing the country is on the wrong track and vast swaths of citizens sick and tired of being told that their opinions don't count and that they should just shut up and do as their "betters" tell them.

They voted for change with little regard to the specifics of the vehicle for that change because sometimes taking a huge risk is better than an intolerable status quo.
