The amount of homes with guns is irrelevant. It's the idea that your home can be armed is where the positive results come from. Very few people will take a chance at you not being armed if they try to rob your home occupied.

Secondly, the decrease in gun violence is proportional with law changes that now favor the victim instead of the attacker. Many states like mine have changed the laws to give a criminal a huge disadvantage.

Thirdly, the amount of citizens that obtained their CCW license had been on the increase and still is. That means more people having the ability to carry their guns outside of their property:

We are talking about legal purchases of machine guns--not illegal. According to our laws that Reagan enacted, it's illegal to buy a machine gun made after 1986, and this site is selling NEW machine guns. Clearly, it's illegal to buy one from any of these sites if they are legit.

You can buy a gun in New York, after jumping through countless legal hoops and paying through the nose for it, but you cannot get a concealed carry permit, and there is no open carry. In other words, you have to keep it in your home where it's no use to you if you're not there. The criminals know this, which is why New York has such a high crime rate.
