Time travel question

But, if "the one person" does something to change the past, what then?
You are the author.....you decide.
You said he did not change the past. Further if he did how would it effect whether he was even born or time travel was even discovered. My belief is that either time trave is NOT possible or that when one travels in time the places they go become new time lines.

If he encountered anyone at all or displaced any object, there is a possibility he may never be born.

He's not born "again" he's born just once; and dies just once, it matters not where or when his death occurs. He ceases to exist in the moment when he goes back in time rather than by decomposing slowly (following a more mundane death). Upon disappearing he has no further affect on history and/or time than he was able to effect during his truncated lifetime.
