They left the way they came in. So why minimum wage jobs? Because they both smoked pot and lower paying jobs don't drug test like better paying ones. They are probably doing the same today.

It was always my hope for them that they'd realize how much life they are giving up to smoke grass, quit, and try to find better paying futuristic jobs.

If the Democrats took over and increased the federal MW pay to $15.00 an hour, my former tenants may never see the light for better paying jobs. Like I said, they lived here for about seven years although he moved in a few years after she and her girlfriend broke up. So take five years for example. If they quit pot, got better paying jobs making around 10K more per year each, that's 20K per year between the both of them. In the time they lived here, they would have left with 100K more than they had when he moved in. Around here, they could have purchased a house for cash instead of moving to another apartment with higher rents like they did.

The only place I've seen that has tried to use these is Panera Bread. The only time people use these is if there is a long line at the counter. People would still rather give their order to a person.

Similarly, Jewel Osco tried to use self-checkout for a while. Then they realized they were losing too much money when people "neglected" to scan things.

Eventually they will force people to checkout themselves. In our grocery store, they only have two cashiers and four self-checkouts. If you want to stand in line behind four other customers, then you can wait and use the cashier. Let me tell you something, champ. When I first got old enough to vote, I went to the local Republican Party to find out they had a whopping seven members. There were NO elected Republican office holders in my area... not the city council, not the county commission, sheriff, or the tax commissioner... not at the state level, not the federal level.

We changed that within two election cycles and there hasn't been but maybe two Democrats elected within several cities since (that was back when Reagan was elected BTW.)

Today neither the Ds nor the RS offer viable solutions, so I have been supporting the Libertarians and voting for them as a kind of protest vote, but NO party gets my blind loyalty when none of them are committed to the principles upon which this country was founded.

Yep, it's just Grand for the country that CEOs get paid two three four hundred times as much as average workers now when the number was 40 times when Reagan started. The only way to stop that is to have higher tax rates on the richest like before Reagan. Where is the flat rate listed for a janitors pay in America ?? Who sets a janitors pay ? Is it set by the government whether federal, state, and local or is it set by the company based upon a single owners assessment of the employee ??
