Toledo teen arrested for bringing loaded gun to school

You have to realize how ridiculous the premise that gun laws somehow fail by being violated is.
Did they succeed in their intended effect? No.
Did they prevent the crime from being committed, as is their purpose? No.
Demonstrable failure to achieve an intended effect is a clear indication of inefficacy.

By that logic, every law on the books is "inefficient", because all of them get broken.

The kid was arrested before he committed a crime, so yeah, the law is a legitimate law.

So, the laws you brought up - jaywalking, murder, murder of a police officer - are indeed NOT in place to prevent these crimes.
Thank you.
Gun laws aren't in place to "prevent" all gun crimes, either. They exist to deter gun crimes.
Really?
Sounds like you need to enlighten a good number of people who seek to "prevent".
States United to Prevent Gun Violence | Empowering State Advocates to Save Lives
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence
Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence
We know how to prevent gun violence, so why don’t we?

(the list goes on....)
You are confusing rhetoric for reality.
Reality?
That even though these people call for things that will "prevent" any number of gun-related crimes, they know the laws they want to implement will "prevent" no such thing?
That is, they have to lie to get what they want?
If gun laws stop a single criminal from buying a gun, they've "prevented" that criminal from getting a gun at that moment.
I notice you did not address the issue of the people in question having to lie to get what they want - I therefore accept your concession of that point.. Its well- know that anti-gun loons have to lie to get what they want because reality does not support their positions.
As to what you DID say...
If gun laws stop a single criminal from buying a gun, they've "prevented" that criminal from getting a gun at that moment.
And when hundreds , thousands, tens of thousands or people are NOT prevented by that law....?
Just ONE prevention proves efficacy?

There's no logic in that conclusion as you deliberately fail to take into account "intended effect"
What is the intended effect of laws against murder?

:Even YOU are not so stupid to realize that he committed at least THREE crimes.
Wait... are you?

Well, you got me there. He didn't injure anyone. So the law is a good law.

The fact that he did not injure anyone had nothing to do with the laws intended to prevent him from injuring anyone.

Sure they did. If the laws didn't exist no arrest could have been made.

With no support whatsoever, you assume that the arrest, and only the arrest, is the reason he did not shoot anyone.
:dunno:
