It'll all depend on turnout, as it always does.

It's raining in the DC suburbs, that'll help Gillespie.
Because Democrats are such unmotivated losers they can't bother to vote if it's anything but a perfectly sunny day.

So, now that the fat lady has sang, how are you feeling?

How does it feel to know that even though Democrats are such lazy losers, Gillespie still lost with the worst margin a Republican has had in Virginia since 1985?

Gillespie tried to run away from Trump and then only accepted his help when he realized that was a losing strategy.

No republican wants trump to campaign for him

^^^^ Probably why this Gillespie didn't win, I have been reading about him and he is what they refer to as a RINO, he is not a Conservative Conservative, he also is part of The Establishment.

:lol::lol::lol:

What exactly have you been reading?

He was chairman of the Republican Party, worked in the GWB Administration, was on the Romney Presidential losing campaign all very Establishment.

You should have seen how he campaigned.

It's beside the point, because Trump is hated here in Virginia. I'd guess that Trump's support of Gillespie hurt him more than it helped.

Virginia is called a Blue State yes? The Democrat should have won by + 15% if The Donald is that unpopular the same with the other Blue State New Jersey, they should be having landslides off the chart but they are not.

Virginia is a "purple" state, not a blue state. The Cook PVI is around D +1.

Gillespie had the worst showing of any Republican gubernatorial candidate in the last 30 years.

It's not a landslide though it's less than a 200,000 vote difference.

They didn't like Romney or McCain either, although Trump got more votes than McCain.

Yes. Virginia is a "purple" state, as I said.

In 2013, Terry McAuliffe (D) won by 56,000 votes.
In 2009, Bob McDonnell (R) won by 350,000 votes.
In 2005, Tim Kaine (D) won by 113,000 votes.
in 2001, Mark Warner (D) won by 95,000 votes.
In 1997, Jim Gilmore (R) won by 220,000 votes.

Tonight's result is a great speech President Trump is doing in Seoul, South Korea. Wow!

What is the thing about the South Korean golfers?

The Donald is now on with North Korea and about how half of North Korea is starving but Kim Jong-un spend 200 million last year on his Regime, now mentioning the Gulags and the general horror.

How about now?

I just have to say if Republicans pull off a win in VA I will laugh.

Any other interesting races?
The only reason why they had won? It is because that there wasn't that much coverage of the race, and they had hurried up and got Pres.Trump out of the country, and put more focus on the church shooting and Pres.Trump's Japan trip. But hardly any mentioning of the election. But Steve Bannon didn't put any emphasis on the race either. Maybe they did not care for so much for the Republican nominee.
