Wrong. The second amendment wasn’t written with “self defense” in mind. That was a given at the time. It was written specifically in reference to resisting a tyrannical government. The founders had just done so. They overthrew the crown, which saw the resistance to their rule building and tried to seize all of their weapons.

Your assertion that armed citizens couldn’t fight and defeat the government is laughable. That is exactly what happens in the revolution. A bunch of ragtag citizens rose up and defeated possibly the finest military power the world had seen.
You pretend like all the military would line up on one side with all their weapons, bombs, tanks, stealth jets, etc and on the other wood be Americans armed with rifles, and they would duke it out. There is zero chance that would happen.
I’m not going to take the time to explain it to you, because you likely wouldn’t give it any thought anyway, seeing as how you haven’t done any thinking yet. Simply put, it would be a guerilla struggle. How is that going on right now, in the Middle East? How did it go in Vietnam, where first the French lost and then we lost?
