The dead thug was never "attacked".

Informing the public about a person's character after they've commited a violent felony assault, and ended up being thrust into the public's eyes because the victim of his violent agression shot him in self defense isn't an "attack". Especially when the entire endeavor was do inflame racial tension and create an excuse to condemn self defense laws and concealed carry laws.

If the dead thug's mother wants to be used as a political pawn, she's opened herself up to condemnation by the people who are resistant to the manipulation being attempted by their political foes.
