Trump can't secure the $454 million bond

Eric Trump lies about bond, doesn't realize real businesses appeal major decisions all the time.
For example, DuPont and 3M had a $10Billion judgement they appealed.

lamented the $454 million penalty imposed on his father, former President Donald Trump, to cover a civil fraud verdict.

“No one’s ever seen a bond this size,” he told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo during a Sunday interview. “Every single person, when I came to them saying, ‘Hey, can I get a half-billion-dollar bond?’ They were laughing. Top executives of large insurance companies had never seen anything of this size.”

Bartiromo questioned Trump about how the court landed on the $454 million penalty.

They believe, they have no doubt, that they are more intelligent, more accurately-informed, more logical and more patriotic than those of us from across the political spectrum who think they've been conned.

MTG is essentially their poster child.

What do you do with that, exactly?
I’m pretty sure the likes of you are ineligible to define republicans…

I wish I could answer that.

you were sure he'd beat Old Sleepy Joe back in 2020 too

Where are the usual Red Hat traitors on here? LOL!They can only ignore this for so long before their brains explode.

What makes you sure of this?

The facts are there was no widespread fraud...and Trump lost.
The only thing coming for Trump...is justice. Decades overdue. :)

Trump is a fraud. That is the simple truth but because you hate freedom and our ability to control our own fucking life you're going to vote for the bastard. Idiots.

Well we might actually get to actually find out what Trump's apt is actually worth on the market.

Sure. It’s the Democrats rather than Trumps own actions and the rulings against him. :cuckoo:

I see a Trump holdings fire sale in the future.

Did Trump lie before the court under oath, when he claimed he had $400 million in liquid assets?

I am not a Trump fan, at all, which has been more than evident....

And I understand the amount of the judgement, was Trump's ill gotten gains from the fraud over the 10 year period....

But....I believe the penalty is just too high, for the crime....and should be reduced.

What's tricky with their laws, is the now libel defendant has to put up the money owed, BEFORE they can appeal the judgement....it's understandable to have to put the full libel amount up, before allowing an appeal so that it is secured...

However, if the defendant's appeal is for the judgement amount being too high in the first place, how can they ever be able to appeal the amount being too high, if they never could come up with the amount that was too high, up front?

Having to sell off properties at likely a lower value, to meet the libel judgement that the defendant is appealing as too high, to let's say get a judgement in their favor....what good would that lower amount judgement mean, when the defendant already had to Fire sale his properties?

Am I understanding this all correctly????

EDIT!

OK, he can still appeal the amount without putting up all the money is what was said on the news, but Letitia James can begin going after his properties while he is appealing the actual verdict.

Cry me a river. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

Still hurting over buddy having to pay up?

He'll let you wash his ass if that will help.

Under what grounds?

He clearly told everyone he was a multi billionaire, his lawyer said he was worth 14 bn.

Are we now saying he is lying?

Trump had years to liquify assets for this judgement and he choose not too.

If I was the New York state I would be looking for my money ASAP before he tries and move it out of reach, like he tried during the case.

$454m could be used for parks and school renovations...

All lardass Trump has to do is take selfies of his ass & peddle them to you MAGA rabble dopes & he'll raise the money in no time.

His ill gotten gains are far more than the fine. Why should it be reduced? One building from one fraudulent loan alone is worth that much. Not to mention the other lenders and insurance companies he defrauded.

He made more than that from his fraud.

Now I ask "why" it is too much.

Here is a nice summary of civil fraud settlements in New York. Not one of them is Trump. They have been taking care of lots of fraud, and Trump is just another one of the same.

Ah such a beautiful thing! I love to see Trump absolutely crumble. Pathetic he fooled his followers into thinking he was worth shit.

The butthurt by USMB republicans is equallly gorgeous.

tRump is untrustworthy. Especially for that amount of money.

He made the bed, time for him to lie in it.

I thought Trump was a billionaire?! Oh my!

30 banks?! Doesn’t anyone want to do business with him?

Almost no one does anything so stupid. Don't kid yourself. If they did, the banking and insurance industries would collapse. The vast majority of business people will go as far as they legally can, but only a complete idiot like Trump is a total fraud and a conman.

Donald Trump has ALWAYS been a business outlier. No one has done the things he's done and no one has even tried. His 7 business bankruptcies, and 3500+ lawsuits are both records for any American businessman, and not in a good way.

The bankruptcies include Trump Taj Mahal (1991), Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino (1992), Plaza Hotel (1992), Trump Castle Hotel and Casino (1992), Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts (2004), and Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009), and Trump Hotel Toronto (2016).

Trump has never succeeded at anything, except being a conman and a grifter. Trump made money from his TV show, and from licensing his name. He's done nothing but lose money with his businesses.

Oh really? Trump said in a sworn deposition a few months ago that he had over $400 million in cash on hand & that ammount was going up monthly. So Trump is a liar, correct?

To say he's a "risk" would be quite an understatement.

He brings this all on himself, and then plays the victim. That's the behavior, over and over.

What about his family? His beloved daughter and Jarod loaning him the money?

What we'll see are more excuses from frailures like yourself who can't accept a Trump defeat, emotionally.

Because, they too, know they won't get their $$$ back.

That's what happens, when the criminal is a politician.
Trump and his cult overlook that part with Trump, but are STILL going after Biden.
With no evidence or witnesses.

most people havent engaged in large scale business cheating.l

Sure it will. History is going to look back at Donald Trump and wonder how we broke our Democracy so bad that a clown like this could dominate our politics for a decade.

The man has been a grifter all of his life. It's finally catching up with him.

Except he needs to put up the bond in order to appeal. Or they can start seizing his assets to pay the fine levied against him.
That's the way it works.

Why should he be given special privileges any other defendant would not get?

The bond is part of the appeals process, it ensures the defendant does not liquidate all their funds during the appeal.

They of course could, if trump.could properly collateralize it. When Trump said such a bond could not be written, he was lying.

Today's the day ShitLordos! Are you ready? :D

Either you’re just being ignorant to troll, or ignorant of the facts, or both. Either way, you’re in for huge disappointment….I kind of feel sorry for you….nah, not really :itsok:
Tell me a fact that I’m ignorant to. Trump has partial ownership of lIke 5 buildings in New York City.

Do you have any idea how much the real estate of New York city is worth?

Eric Trump
Was Dupont subjected to forfeiture of assets unless they produced a $10 billion plus bond before the appeal process started?

I read the story at the provided link and didn't see it mentioned.

I also noticed that Dupont got the ruling tossed on appeal as well... due to the fact that they were singled out for doing the same thing that thousands of other companies had been doing for years without any scrutiny from the courts.

That is exactly what Trump's lawyers will argue in his case on appeal as well. His corporation was just engaging in "business as usual" in the commercial real estate business.
