No, the witnesses the public wanted were John Bolton, who sent all his staffers to talk to the lawyers, and who ultimately quit/was fired because of his refusal to participate in this illegal scheme; Mick Mulvaney, who used his position as head of the OMB to implement the hold, and Rudy Guliani, who carried it out.
