Flynn lost his White House gig after news leaked that he had surreptitiously discussed sanctions relief with Russia’s ambassador while president Obama was still in office, and then (reportedly) lied to Vice-President Pence about it.

Since then, the House Oversight Committee has concluded that Flynn’s acceptance of payments from the Turkish and Russian governments was likely illegal.


According to the Times, Comey kept a paper record of every time the president improperly attempted to influence an investigation.


The report published Tuesday is based on a partial transcript of (just) one of those memos.

Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to federal investigators about his conversations during the presidential transition with Russia's U.S. ambassador about sanctions related to the Kremlin’s election interference.

The retired Army general said those topics did not come up in his talks with then-Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, a claim that was repeated publicly by Pence and other White House officials.

Trump in February said he axed Flynn because he lied to the vice president — but did not mention anything related to what the national security adviser told the FBI.

“I fired him because of what he said to Mike Pence. Very simple,” Trump said at a Feb. 16 news conference, three days after Flynn was fired.

If Trump knew that Flynn had lied to the FBI and then asked Comey to drop the investigation, it could amount to obstruction of justice, according to some legal experts.

"This is a pretty substantial confession to essential knowledge elements of an obstruction of justice charge," tweeted Susan Hennessey, a national security fellow at the Brookings Institution.

The "President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution's Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case," Dowd claims.

Dowd says he drafted this weekend's Trump tweet that many thought strengthened the case for obstruction: The tweet suggested Trump knew Flynn had lied to the FBI when he was fired, raising new questions about the later firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Dowd: "The tweet did not admit obstruction. That is an ignorant and arrogant assertion."

It may not be clear whether a sitting president can or cannot be INDICTED......HOWEVER, a sitting president can be impeached......which, would then most likely lead to resignation.

Comey "leaked" only SOME parts of his memos AFTER the orange clown fired him.

Comey's memos are very much in existence and most likely in Mueller's hands

Comey's memos were requested by CNN to be made public.....but since the contained some classified information, a judge denied the request.....AND, here's the part that should make your panties a bit soiled.
"Releasing the memos, the government said, could "reveal the scope and focus of the investigation and thereby harm the investigation and any prosecutions".
