After President Donald Trump was informed in May that special counsel Robert Mueller had been appointed to oversee the Trump-Russia investigation, Trump unleashed a torrent of insults upon Attorney General Jeff Sessions and told him he should resign, The New York Times reported on Thursday.

Trump reportedly said he believed Mueller's appointment was Sessions' fault for recusing himself in March from the Russia investigation.

Current and former administration officials told the Times that Trump accused Sessions of "disloyalty," called him an "idiot," and said his appointment as attorney general was the worst decision Trump had ever made, leaving Sessions, in the words of the Times, "ashen and emotional."

Sessions later told associates that Trump's demeaning tone during the conversation was the most humiliating experience he's undergone in decades of public life, the Times reported.

"Breaking news: Donald Trump is devoid of any discernible class, ethics, or morals. Next, tune in for a brand new episode of The Waltons"

He should be....his foolishness has created a major problem for Trump.....it has allowed the democrats to create false allegations and allowed them to dig up opposition research against Trump with warrants and subpoeanas...something they didn't have before.....Sessions is one of the guys that gives the Republican party the title of the "Stupid Party."

Trump needs to express his anger less openly, at least where and when the media does not catch it; he is human, has a right to be angry, but he does not hide vivid anger.

While I would agree....he is working with a political party that has no clue on how to actually govern and how to deal with democrats. The appointment of witchfinder mueller comes directly from Sessions recusing himself because Sessions is a republican who reacted in a typical republican politician way to democrat baiting......

One piece of good news, is that Sessions will end his despicable career in disgrace, having pledged himself to a charlatan.

Sessions rightfuly recused himself. Idiot-boy never saw it coming, to the surprise of exactly nobody.

Trump had the right to be angry with someone on his team not being loyal to his team.
No he doesn't. The President has no right to expect personal loyalty from the DOJ. That is 100% , ass-backwards wrong, both factually and ethically.

Loyalty towards the voters that elected Trump and the platform those voters wanted and expected from the Trump team.

100% wrong again. The DOj is expected to be loyal to the code of law, not voters or officials. This is literally written into its mission. You have a very warped sense of civics.

There was no reason for him to do it.....he did it because establishment republicans are stupid.....and his stupidity has caused nothing but problems....

It's not even a question of loyalty...this is a question of just how stupid is Sessions....

I don't think he's stupid but he acted foolishly. It was as if he was still acting as a Senator and committing the classic RINO act of "being held to a higher standard so I will act with honor" bullshit before he realized that when he got appointed AG he was entering a freaking political cage match of epic proportions.

There were, of course, very important reasons. One, he was an official in the Trump campaign. Two, he did not disclose meetings with the Russian ambassador when asked by Congress. Everyone seems to get this, except for Donald Trump and his 30 million mommies.
