2. Democrats want convictions on all charges, and they want Trump to go to jail for all of the harm he's done to the country.

Of all the potential trials, this was THE worst one to go first. Probably counterproductive on balance. And the others are being successfully delayed. And Biden ain't gettin' any younger.

Yes they can in some states .. as well as other states, like Florida, that defer voting rights to other states -- as with Trump who is a resident of Florida and was convicted in New York.

New York prohibits those serving time with a felony from voting, and their voting right is restored when they leave prison. Felons who don't serve prison time never lose their voting right (in New York).
